I have a 2001 Ram 2500 Diesel. When I am driving at aprox 50 mph, the trans seems to either be getting air or attempting to shift down. It is only for a split second then returns to normal. It is more apt to do this when cold. If I take the truck out of overdrive it changes nothing. I was told its a TPS but I would like some more input. Any sugestions?

  3. I just bought another 2001.5 2500 this one is 4X4. The check engine light has come on a few times. When I do the key trick it gives me PCU P0622 and P1765, ECU P1693 (companion code). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Just was given a couple of floor jacks. Bad news is one doesn't lift up and the other barely lifts the truck. I have put fluid in them. There is no id on them. Just wondering if anyone has had to (or can you?) over haul a hydraulic jack. Any pointers would be appreciated!

Hello all. I have a dumb question for everyone. I added 2 stroke to my fuel with powerservice also. On way home i started getting 0121 code. Drove truck a couple of days later and got dead petal 5 times on way home. Tried to shut off engine twice and just kept on running. I havent had any apps codes since i got edge installed and smaller injectors. My question is will both those additives togther affect vp44 and cause 0121 code? It just seems weird it started as soon as i added them. I have a scheid hot rod vp44 and i think they have tighter tolerences. Any info would help. Im hoping i dont have to shell 400.00 for …

Just thought I would share with you what I am using in my rigs. Had the head mechanic for Maverik convience stores recommend this to me. He told me he could tell the difference on which engines ran it and which didn't. I have been happy with it. It has a HFRR score of 370 at a 1:1000 ratio. http://texasrefinery.com/

Ok my dash indicator for the 4wd is flickering. It comes on when engaged and takes a long time to go out when out of 4wd. It appears to be out since I can not feel the feedback in the steering wheel. It did not have this problem last time I checked it. I just got the truck a couple of months ago. My cruise control works, it does seem to take a little time to change modes but not really long and i have no reference to another truck. I do not have the vac solenoid on the front axle on my truck. Any thoughts? Thanks

My tires are 285/75 and i was aware they are rubbing and i think the blow out is due to this i have 16x10's i believe with nitto terra grapplers 285.... is it cause of the offset on the rims that it rubs... these are the rims i have: http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com/Store_Detail.cfm?ID=192660&InfoID=2505&ShowLarge=True&SnipID=4117 I would like to buy the same tire what do i need to do so they wont rub at all? Hi all. I'm wondering if I'm headed in the right direction here:Yesterday while out and around I noticed the Edge comp was reading 0 boost continuously. At one point while accelerating it started jumping between 0 and 15 psi, which I could definitely feel, pulled hard while it read boost, then felt and sounded like it was lugging when 0 boost. Took it home and checked for way obvious stuff, unpluggled connectors, damaged wires, found nothing. Decided to take it to Autozone to have the codes pulled and on the way there the Edge started squawking an alarm that the boost was running at 40 psi, and did it when I let off the throttle to slow down. The only code that came ou…

  11. Ok Gang... I'm looking for a bit of help on diagnosing a charging issue. Been a busy day for fire calls today and on my way home from this last fire call I was noticing on the SG II my charge voltage is low and erratic. It still within spec of 13.5 to 14.5 volts but it bouncing a bit. With my lights all going its hover right at 13.5 to 13.6 which is usual for a charge voltage. Then it might bounce up to 14.0 to 14.1 then fall again... My first though is field brushes are wore out... Still running stock batteries 8 years old... No codes either... Now here is the kicker I need to do this without throwing a ton of money at parts guessin' I don't want to blow my Christmas Ca…

About a month ago my truck suddenly died. After two weeks of denial, I came to the conclusion that my VP44 had died. I got one from jkidd (great deal too) and installed it. After installing the new VP44, I can't believe how much quieter it is now. It still sounds like a VP44 truck just not nearly as loud. My wife and a couple of my neighbors commented on how much quieter it is now. The other thing is fuel mileage. Today I did a lot of town/city driving (84 miles with an average speed of 26 mph) and the ScanGauge showed 17.9 mpg. Previously, the best I could have hoped for this time of the year would have been mid 15's with this kind of stop and start driving and 2…

Has anyone else had trouble with their display showing black boxes where the letter or number should be: Mine does this intermittently. If I unplug it and plug it back in, the display returns to normal. Also, some of the time it doesn't connect automatically with the truck. The gauges show no data. I have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to connect. Sometimes I have to do this more than once. Most of the time it works perfectly but these two problems are annoying. I emailed Linear Logic and they said to send it in for repair. I just want to make sure these aren't common glitches that aren't going to go away with repair. Not ba…

  15. I am the original owner of a 98.5 Dodge Cummins with 140,000 miles. Several months ago it started the 'gear hunt' symptoms. My local garage WAS a dodge dealer but lost the dealership back in the summer. They put a new APPS unit (from NAPA) on the truck but it did not solve the issue. I have the '1998-2002 Dodge 4th ger hunt fix" document from ATS Diesel; and a similar document from Sun Coast Diesel. Both of these documents focus on correcting potential grounding issues between the APPS and the ECM/PCM modules. After reading one of the threads here, I see that reprogramming fixed, at least one person's issue. I do not believe my truck has ever been reflashed or reprogramme…

Hello everyone, Just trying to see how many monthes your getting out of your disc brake pads. I put new calipers and pads on in March of 09 and now I have to do it again! I guess when your trying to stop a 7400lb truck it goes thru them! It doesn't help that I live in an area that has a ton of hills, valleys, and curves!

I have an H/O 6 speed exhaust brake 2001 3500 with 15300 miles now I was stumbling around here and found a thread on cleaning these sensors so I went ahead and pulled them out and and they where very black to say the least now I pulled a pretty good hill just to see where I was at on the EGT and boost then claened the sensors and the same numbers came up didn't seem to help right off the gitgo now should I notice a difference long term or should I be looking at somthing else. Truck seems to run fine no problems but you know could always use more power. Also I do have a banks performance chip don't remember witch one maybe this is over ridding these sensors any ideas?

  18. My 2001 RAM 2500 24V Cummins Automatic (56K Miles) goes from dead pedal starting at 2000 RPM in 1st gear to having the transmission disengaged above 2000 RPM. Sometimes I can rev the engine but it acts like the truck is in neutral. The truck will drive in first gear, as long as I stay under 2K RPM. I have replaced the APPS, same problem. The error codes are:P PCUCP 0720P ECUP 1693 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  19. So, I'm not getting into specifics, but I goofed. I was backing into a shop parking lot and from the first angle, there was no way I could have seen it... I backed into a freakin light pole...:whistle: Now, this would not have been much of an issue, but I was backing into a parking spot off my passanger side mirror completely hiding the pole coming up on my driver side as I was turning into a spot... At the moment the pole was visible in my driver side, I was already into it. I caught the far corner of my bumper which pushed in and turned the fender under, cracked the tail light and really pissed me off. So, if you were going to buy a - Driver side back fender- N…
