I've done a few, but not to a dodge. Maybe this summer I'll have time. Here's the ford armor: It was a little heavier material than I needed, but had plenty. 1/2" 4x9 box tube. With the brush guard I guess it weighs 300 lbs. Below I was rebuilding the radiator core support. So, lets see some other creations, or store bought too.

I'm just curious, is there any benefit in using Mopar Official Transmission fluid ATF+4 verses Super Tech transmission fluid ATF+4? Are they made by the same company? The Super Tech is a lot cheaper.

Spent a while making this thought you guys could have some fun with it too. You have to have microsoft excel for this file to work. Should work with any version.Don't mess with anything but the highlighted blue things or you might erase my formulas. If you do manage to delete it all and make it go nuts, just delete it and redownload the one here.. Speed-RPM 2.xls

  7. I was out surfing around the internet... Looking at the different injection pump places and saw this notice box over at Industrial Injection... http://www.industrialinjection.com/ BEWARE of cheap Chinese imitation turbochargers and fuel injection parts sold on EBay and other web sites. They are not built of high quality parts or materials and have high failure rates. These knock-off parts are sold as name brand and under MAP pricing. The parts being sold as new on EBay or other auction web sites are not Industrial Injection products. Industrial Injection sells ONLY genuine original products.

Rusted off manifold bolts.I've been wrestling with some badly rusted studs.2 out of 6 came right out2 were rusted off right at the head.I welded a nut to what was left of the stud and worked 2 more out this way.I drilled one out, that went ok but on the last one I rushed it and snapped off the bit in the hole. Have any of you used a torched to blow out the hole? It's getting close to snowplowing season, so I I'm looking for a quick fix or I'm going to bolt it back on with a gasket and fix it the right way in the spring?

Well gang I got a shot at doing starter contacts on a 5.9L Dodge Gasser Ram. As a matter of fact it rather easy to do just like the Cummins version but just smaller starter. The contacts were provided by my local NAPA store which I come to find out they ordered them from LarryB's http://startercontacts.com/ But it just remove the starter from the truck as usual and remove the 3 small screw on the solenoid cover. Now remove the spring loaded plinger contact and spring. Now that you remove that you can see the other 2 contact which are just bolted to the case. As you can see it just a matter of removing a few nuts and slipping the old contact out and slipping the new c…

The justly famous LA series of Chrysler small block V8 engines... were made from 1964-2003. Cid 273, 318, 340, 360... wedge head engines. LA is 50# lighter & while sharing the same 4.46 bore spacing of the earlier A series.5.2 L, 5.9 are based on the parent engines (318, 360) but only the cranks & rod interchange.

  14. I knew that big block wedge engines came in a high deck & low deck (including 361, 383 I'm familiar with) but have just been reading up on the 354 hemi (low deck) vs 426 hemi (high deck). There's more to earlier low deck Hemis which were made in brand specific, non-interchangeable series of different hemi blocks, not just being made in 2 deck heights! High & Low deck engines within the same brand use different cams to keep the valve train angles correct. The Hemi was introduced in 1951 in Chrysler branded cars (LD:331, 354, HD: 392). In 1952 DeSoto brought out their own Hemi (276, 291, 330, 341) And in 1953 Dodge brought out it's own Hemi (241, 270, 259, 315, 32…

  18. I have a 3.9l Magnum in my 1994 Dakota Sport that has always sounded somewhat like a diesel. It has a characteristic pop from the exhaust here and there at random but only during shifting. The rattling up front really had me worried since it sounds low in the chassis and I was afraid the bottom end was going, not to mention the truck began losing power like crazy over the last year (can't hold highway speed.) Using a piece of wood as a stethoscope I narrowed it down to the timing chain. So armed with that information I went to trusty google to look for cheaper sources for parts only to find service bulletins about the timing set. It turns out there is too much slack …

Well gang...I got into Mom's garage and woke up the sleeping princess. It happens to be a 1977 Dodge Magnum XE with a 318 CID engine 2 BBL Holley carb. Nice to see the old girl wake up from a long slumber in the garage. It got several small issues to deal with like a 1/2 tank of some very sour gasoline, needing all the fluids change and just basic maintenance done. Later on I get the rest of the specs and some pictures of my project... :thumbsup

I know this is dangerous territory... but if I won the lottery... I'd like to see a modern hemi in a Shelby roadster replica. I recall fondly a friend's Dodge 354 hemi/Coronet...
