I have a 1996 F350 with a 7.3 diesel engine. When it first starts it makes a loud rattling noise and it is slow to accelerate. When you push on the gas instead of ahooting up to 3500 rpms it crawls. After it warms up the rattling noise stops and it accelerates fine. Does anybody have any ideas what could cause this?

Hi everyone!! I am having a hard time trying to get the parking brake adjusted on my Ranger. The cable tensioner seems to be rusted solid and I cant get the nut to turn to tighten it up. I was going to just purchase a new tensioner but no one sells them!! At least, I havent found on yet. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!! Trying to save a trip to the Ford dealer:rolleyes:

Talked with one of my dog training buds earlier today. Found out from her that their '06 Furd F350 diesel with the 6.0h no it spent all of it's time in the shop when they went down to Tulsa, OK for a dog event!!!!! Only 86k on this bad boy also.Vanessa told me that her and Steve (her husband) will be looking for a gasser. I told them that wasn't wise if they plan to do any long term towing of their tag camper/trailer. It's a big one!!! They're considering a Chevy gasser!!!!:duh:I told her to look for a 2-3 year old Dodge with the 6.7 in it and buy it and then do the deletes..............but what do I know..................

  6. Hello all, I’m a new member here. I got some great help on another project from mopar1973man (thanks again brother) on another forum and figured I'd come over and try to get help on this nightmare.I will try to keep it short and sweet. I am working on a 2006 base model Ranger 4x2 with a 3.0 L auto for a friend. After more low compression problems than any vehicle should have in a lifetime ( bad valve seats), we have just replaced the engine AGAIN. The replacement is from an ’06 Taurus. I finished the install and took it on a 15 mile test ride. 1 mile from home the check engine light came on. Cyl. 6 misfire.Checked compression on a couple of cylinders obviously #6 included…

  9. Over 10,000 Ford Escape crossover SUVs are being recalled almost as soon as they left the showroom. The recall is over a big carpet pad on the driver's side that could interfere with breaking the automobile. Will you be in the market to sell or purchase a used or new auto? If this sounds like you, check out Gus Johnson dealer! Want to know find out more about Gus Johnson Ford? Schedule a test drive here. Getting recalled with ford Escape When shifting a foot from the accelerator to the brake, the driver may end up reducing reaction time and increasing the risk of a crash as the driver might hit the side of the brake. The carpet padding decreases the room around…

  11. My son dodged a bullet IMO because he was using Amsoil. Oil sample for an Ford Focus SE 2L with 59.863 miles on the oil. The oil that is being used is the ASM 0w20 oil only to be used 25,000 miles and EA15k51 oil filter only to be used 15,000 miles. In the last few weeks I ask my daughter in-law my sons wife, when was their oil due to be changed in theirshe said it was past due a long time ago. Note he had been out of work for a back injury and surgery for some time and was in the hospital for kidney failure almost lost him anyhow. I asked how long had it been, it turned out it had been 59,863 miles ago. We had changed the car over to Amsoil at 44k and it had 103,863 …

  12. Hi Michael and members, It's been awhile since I have posted on here, nice changes to the site, it looks very good. Anyhow, I thought I would share my experience with this product, http://evergreen.cagehosting.com/index.cfm/products/ar6000/ar6200-combustion-catalyst-and-burn-modifier/ in a nutshell, it will make any truck run like the best tank of fuel you have ever run. I came across this product by accident, and its formulation is really nothing new, but requires very little to produce big results. It basically brings our low quality ulsd fuel up to spec. I came across it when ordering some AR9100 friction modifier from this company, they sent me some samples of the AR…

Well I've been helping a neighbor do a power steering gear box project. This Ford truck is a beauty all original and in really good shape and straight. As for the power steering box it was ruined and so was the pump. The owner changed the pump and the gear box was goofy and sticky. So he got a deal on a used Saginaw box to replace the current Saginaw box... Here is the hitch the box steering back-wards! Ok... So I got creative and decided to open the other box and pull the rack and sector gear and do a switch. Talk about a all day project. Managed to get it all swapped out and ran down to the shop where the was and install it. Got it fire up and wheeled out side to add m…

Working on a 95 probe GT,clutch pedal won't return fully,I can push the fork back against the slave to get it to return. My question is there a spring to pull the fork back or is the throw out bearing just not sliding on the input shaft freely?
