Just wondering if anybody here knows anything about these engines in the f-150? Dad is shopping for a vehicle and we test drove one yesterday. The power is unbelievable! He's looking for something to replace his car and likes the room inside, and handling of a pickup on our country roads. So mostly wondering how the mpg's are in real world driving. With the price of gas that's a major factor in vehicle buying:doh:

Mom has a 95 F150 with a 5.8 in it. She went out to try to start it and it cranks and every once in a while it acts like it wants to start but will not. I have checked both fuse panels and no problems there. It has dual tanks and I tried both tanks and same results. I am thinking a fuel problem. But, don't know a thing about this truck. Any help as to where the fuel pump is and anything else that might be useful in diagnosing this problem would be appreciated!

knocked the dust off my toy today and did some sanding, figured i'd snap some pics. and give yall a peek. she's a 67 mercury cougar (first year) originally a 289 auto, now a 302ho fuel injected and t-5 manual. it runs perfect with painless wiring harness and no check engine light. converted to 4 wheel power disc brakes and a 8.8 posi rear-end. she was a old drag car and severly rusted, almost all sheet metal is new, had to cut out roll cage and add sub frames. i want it to be a daily driver and easy for my wife to take off in. 2 years in the making and completly built by my hands. one day it might be driven by my hands too but thats still a long way away. well i've shared…

Hey Guys....my friend has a 2009 Ford F450 dually with the powerstroke automatic and is having some issues, or should I say , an issue. He tows a 45 or 47 ft (can't remember for sure) fifth wheel horse trailer and when on the highway coming into a hill the truck will shift down to a lower gear and sometimes the truck will start what he calls jumping, I guess i would call it a vibration, for about 10-12 times and then stop, or stops when it shifts back into high gear. He had it to the dealer this week and they first tried telling him it was because the fifth wheel hitch was 2 inches ahead of the rear housing, throwing the truck off. He basically told them BS because …

I got lucky and was volnteared to help a buddy fix his 73 mod. cab and chassie that he found in a little small town with a three man vol. fire dept. They bought it brand new in 73 and it has 2k miles on it it's a cherry. Only problem is some wise guy thought they would do him a favor and remove the govner from throttle plate. Well it runs hot as h--- 230 and nobody knew why. So the first thing I said was where is the parts to the gov., They threw them away. lol Anyway I pulled a plug and....... you guessed it it was whiter than when they put them in. So my question is how do they measure jets? I was going to drill them out a little at a time till it is right, but need a s…

Looks like Ford did their home work on this one, except they forgot to make it an inline diesel Looks like they made a new transmission and turbo charger while they were at it as well. It will appeal the quiet V8 diesel crowd. We will have to see how this new power train holds up in the real world? So far it looks impressive. http://www.fordvehicles.com/trucks/superduty/features/
