Posted November 23, 200717 yr I been using 2 cycle oil when I'm not running B20. Found another comparison run by diesel heads that tends to confirm, again, that it is not a bad idea to be using a little 2stroke oil. http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=177728

November 23, 200717 yr Author Yeah... But I hate to say it but I've already got it posted here... viewtopic.php?f=14&t=114well that just figures, I'm behind the curve again. LOL I like the idea of confirmation of what folks have been doing
November 23, 200717 yr Mike I am wondering where I stand as far as the manufactures basline stantard?I buy fuel that is 5% biodiesel. I add 9 oz. of PS and 1 oz./ gal of the Super Tech. This is based on the 35 gallon fill. The way I got it figured is that I meet the standard and then some.We are also into the blended fuel right now and it is 20% #1 fuel.
November 24, 200717 yr Owner While your using B5 there is no need for PS or 2 Cycle Oil... BIO Diesel is very srong solvent in its own but has more lubricity that PS or 2 Cycle oil... Check out this page.. http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/general/2-cycle-oil/hfrr/hfrr.htm But the down side is BIO has less BTU's than #1 Diesel so you fuel mileage will drop slightly... http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/general/2-cycle-oil/btu/btu.htm
November 24, 200717 yr Looks like I have been doing some overkill and wasting my money. The engine does seem to run quieter with the 2 cycle. I noticed that Duluth Diesel runs a cocktail also and I believe he stated that he also buys B5. Oh well.By the way how are you doing with your jar testing with the samples that Chuck sent you?
