I installed the timbo sensor a little over a month ago and it seemed to have worked fine for about a month then the bucking and dead pedal started again this time not as bad but still could tell it was the same problem.  So I cleaned all battery cables then  reset it and it worked for about another week and now is doing it again.  Could the sensor I got be bad?  What am I doing wrong?

Time for alternator noise test. Red probe on the alternator BATT post and the black probe on the negative battery terminal. Set to 2V AC. The meter must have a low AC voltage scale if not it will report like 32V AC or similar.

0.01 to 0.02 AC volts Normal

 

0.05 is marginal

 

0.10 is Failed.

You ought to check for DTC's and post up some info on your truck by filling out your signature so all can see what you have. There is more than one problem that can cause your issues. I had similar issues years ago and it turned out to be fuel pressure. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge and if so what pressures are you seeing at idle and WOT under load. It could be electrical in which case as Mike says, AC voltage could be the root of the problem. The ac voltage can be the root of many problems. Get the trouble codes and we will have somewhere to start.
