Pull the alternator wire loose. (Both the charge lead and the field lead). Go for test drive. If it gone then the AC noise is too high. Some meter are not showing correct number vs. frequency.

The first pic at 30 is with the truck running normally and the second pic is of the truck running with the alternator fuse pulled. My meter doesn't read like yours so I wasn't sure. The problem is only intermittently so removing the alt wire most likes wouldn't tell me anything.

That's showing 27 volts AC!  Something is seriously wrong with the truck or your meter, more likely your meter.

I missed it... :duh:

I thought there was a decimal in there. Look again he's set to 500V AC scale that meter will not work. You need a meter that starts at 200 mV AC or at least 2V AC.

I checked yesterday again with my buddies and it tested a bit lower than yours did so I guess my problem lies else where.
