Why isn't the axle centered in the leaf spring pack???  It's always forward of center.  Thought of this working today.............yeah;  I was thinking again!!!!

    I'm going to have to take an educated guess on this which I would say to prevent axle wrap issues as much. 

  • I would say it's because the axle moves rearward as the springs compress? Might have to do with the geometry so the pinion angle doesn't drastically change as the suspension compresses.

  • I think both of those responses seem logical.  Leverage and angle retention.

Thanks guys.  I hadn't considered any of those today working.  

 

There has to be BUKU info about this somewhere.
