writing my own tunes

So i want to start doing my own tunes. anyone here have a direction for me? what's needed.

i have EFI from anarchy right now, it's good, by all means it's great.

but well i'm a tinkerer. so i'd like to delve into writing some tunes.

do i get a base file? like stock tuning?

 

do i get a flashscan v2?

MM3?

smarty?

 

I've tried reading as much as i can from EFI and MM3 but none really answer my questions as what i need to write my own tunes.

    i wanted to pull the trigger but the site states the combo is not available... suck....

    i could buy just the ultra, but not the combo with the dongle.....

    don't get to excited, you might end up helping me learn the tuning part of all this. adjusting the levels and what they are...

    ok well i've got some packages in. YAY!!.

    Anyhow, can i just flash over the top of my EFI live tune? as the group i got it from is less then helpful on returning my truck back to the stock file it "saved"  when i try it states unsupported, or something like that.

    and now one to the tuning.

    i have a few questions to get me going...

    what does MM3 mean? it seams i can adjust MM3's and MPA, not sure what those are. the other one i see is inHg,
