I’m curious if anyone has ever bought a sound dampening hood liner? Results? Do they work? I love the sound of my truck but mainly engine noise is so loud I can’t even hear the radio.

Time to do the valve lash.    I've pulled every bit of sound dampening material off my truck I got sick and tired of finding the mice packing it around under the hood. Even without my sound

You are correct on the lash measurements.    I'm up by 7am and I won't get home again now till 11pm tonight. 13 hours of driving every other day. (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday). Closing in on

Ha I just did the valves! But I’m starting to wonder if I didn’t tighten the nuts sown good enough and they came loose. Reason for thinking this is also becuase

when I let odf the throttle it starts ticking and diminishes as rpms go down.

I would double check the valve lash.

That I’m going to do! If it is ok what would cuase the ticking when I let off the throttle?

Sorry, I had too.  That was how most of my friends fixed car problems when they were young. If it makes a noise, turn the radio up.  :lmao:

Haha I’m not a fan of loud music!

Just in my mind or you too...

MYbe a tiny bit. Main reason for wanting to dampen sound is going down the highway it’s the worst. Idk if a hood cover would help much or not or if I would have to do firewall etc.

Somebody posted on here last couple months about custom made sound damping blanket on theirs.

No. Absolutely not!

Best if overnight cold is best. 140*F or less is OK.

Didn’t think you could lol.

My problem is is I get home at 5 and have to leave at 5 next morning! No time too cool the engine. Settings should be .010 intake and .020 exhaust correct ?
