Dissection of a rocker panel...

The neighbor and I ripped apart the cancerous rocker panel hole I had today.  

 

The spot weld drilling was no fun.

Dodge screwed us in this deal. 

 

There’s foam attached to the outer rocker.

      I don't think so.    Plasma was never ever a consideration.  It stayed parked.    It was like an adhesive tape foam.

      As soon as paint dries clear coat.    Water based takes a lot longer to dry.    3 coats of clear and it’s done.

      If you live anywhere where they salt in the winter, I would highly suggest getting some fluid film or similar and spraying up inside the area you just repaired to coat the backside of the welds. I'd s

    All done. Ready for paint.

    I think someone sprayed foam in there, and to get them off I use plasma cutter works much better :thumb1:

    Lol. Thanks!!! That's all the neighbor. He is an awesome fabricator, body man,  and dirt jockey

     

    I just do menial jobs, hand tools, and mix drinks. 

     

    His estimation we are carving into the other side in 2 years. Yay.

    If you live anywhere where they salt in the winter, I would highly suggest getting some fluid film or similar and spraying up inside the area you just repaired to coat the backside of the welds. I'd spray it every fall to keep it coated. Even if you have to drill a few holes in the underside to have access and then seal it up with rubber plugs. The bare welds on the back side of that repair will start to rust from the inside out and will bleed through in just a couple years. I know from experience. I did mine when I built my truck and they started to bubble the paint in some spots about 2 years later. Now I have to redo it.
