Morning guys and gals, over the weekend my brother and I put a new head gasket and arp studs on my truck everything went smooth while I was bleeding the cooling system I noticed that a screeching sound coming from the drivers side of the the engine couldn’t really pin point the noise. Double checked over head and it was good. Did some searching on the forum and found another member that posted a video of the same issue after new injectors but never posted a fix.

Also have the hinkling my vp is on its way out, truck cranks a good bit before it fires and it’s been getting worse over the past few weeks, raptor took a dump on me about a month ago on a trip and I don’t think I caught it in time, not sure if the noise I’m hearin is related or not.

Thanks for any help.

If the belt is off and screeching noise is still there then its crank related between the engine and the transmission depending on where the noise is coming from. If the turbo has no signs of rubbing

On my 02 I had a screech after letting it sit for a few weeks. Didn't know what it was so I changed the water pump, idler pulley wheel and bearing and put on a new belt. All is well now.

Pulled the belt off and let it run and still had the noise.  I haven’t  listened for it since driving it home from my brothers about 100 miles. Have to see if it has resolved itself on lunch.

If the belt is off and screeching noise is still there then its crank related between the engine and the transmission depending on where the noise is coming from. If the turbo has no signs of rubbing then you are going have to dig in and look at what left and isolate the noise down its source.

The only other educated guess I have is possibly you have compression whistling through the gasket? Are you sure you torqued the studs down? Intake gasket blowing air?

Just trying to think of all the ways to create a screeching sound possibly.
