Sorry if the title doesnt make sense

Im wondering if its possible to swap from the engine mounted APPS to the 3rd gen style pedal. Both are 6 pin connectors. And honestly i hate that anytime i wanna do something to the drivers side of the engine im running into the sensor being right there in my way. The only thing that would pose an issue would be the TV cable but Im sure theres a way around that.. Just food for thought.

The pinout for the engine mounted apps is very good. Nice description of what each wire does. But the one for an 06 for example is really vague.

What got me wondering is the 06s still have the 3 bolts on the head/manifold for the apps to attach to. So in my mind that tells me that they were planning on some other configurations or that they just didnt feel the need to take those holes out of there casting just yet.

I'm not sure if the 3rd Gen APPS will even work or if it has the same two validation switches or what inside. 3 pins are the rheostat so +5V, signal and signal GND. The there is IVS (idle), IVS (throttle) and GND. I've got no idea what's in the 3rd Gen APPS.

Anything can be done with enough patience and money.

I had a 2000 Cummins 2500 in the shop the other day that had some MAP sensor faults and the customer was experiencing dead pedal at times. I replaced the MAP sensor but just for giggles I looked up a APPS sensor on Quickserve and found it showed Cummins part number 134168 for a 2000 Cummins ISB CM550, if I put in a Dodge Cummins engine number Cummins says to contact Dodge so I look up parts by engine model. If this kit would work on our 2nd gen Dodge's that would be awesome because Williams Control dual channel APPS are reliable, widely available, and inexpensive.

Pedal mounted APPS have been in existence since the 1980's when the first engine to be totally electronically controlled, the General Motors built Detroit Diesel Series 60. Most APPS in class 8 rigs are made by Williams Controls.

Won't work then... Need to be a single channel with double IVS switches.

Timbos shows the APPS on one side and the IVS on the other. No electronics used. Timbo's is all mechanical!
