So, when my transmission gets up to 140 degrees or warmer it will not downshift to 1st gear when coming to a stop. I can manually downshift to 1st gear then place the shifter back in drive and it'll work like normal. When the transmission temp is below 140 it downshifts as it should. The only mods to the transmission are a transgo shift kit, borg warner governor pressure solenoid, and a BD Diesel transducer upgrade. I checked the tv cable, but it was already adjusted properly. What could the issue be?

Most likely the governor pressure sensor and governor pressure solenoid.

Select 2nd gear it should start in 1st gear. If so the it is what I said.

Check error codes too.

The governor pressure sensor and solenoid are only about 4 months old, but I know even knew parts can fail. So, you are saying next time it acts up that I should select 2nd gear and see if it starts in first?

I doubt it will start in first I when selector is in 2nd.

I agree regardless of parts age that pressure sensor and transducer are likely suspect, Regardless of codes thrown or not.

Mine had similar issues I also thought it was temperature related. I also already had upgraded electronics on board.

I did change to GM sensor and new transducer at the time sensor is gms 4l60e gov pressure sensor. Not entirely sure how much of an upgrade or any over the borg sensor.  For some reason the GM sensor is listed for 2000up 47re not sure why.

I was not expecting to notice anything but did notice quicker shifts after installing and 2nd gear starts went away truck never threw codes.

I think transducer was likely the culprit but no sense in changing just one alone.

Higher pressures are hard on parts exspecly when idle psi is at factory wot pressure
