April 6, 20205 yr a fitler wrench, yes it is messy, and the filter is on the passenger side front right next to the block in front of the tire. Nearly the same spot as a 24v or 12v
April 7, 20205 yr I find that if the motor is cool to the touch it’s not very messy. The filters usually back drain about 1/3 of their oil by then. I still put a grocery bag around it thou.
April 13, 20205 yr don't they have a provision in the frame to drain the filter? around the 5 min mark.
April 13, 20205 yr There is a little drain, but I don't like using it. I've never seen that steering setup thou. It looks OE, but not the same as my 18.
April 13, 20205 yr that what mine looks like after i got the "updated" parts form the dealership. was a direct bolt on. when my factory passenger side broke. it was a recall. both my 08 and now my 04 has it.
April 13, 20205 yr His knuckle is different too, it must be a DRW setup. The drag link attaches to the tie rod, but on my truck (and another one I just looked at in the parking lot) the drag link has its own attachment point on the knuckle. Found this online.. Hmmm. Just looked at a DRW, same as mine.
