a fitler wrench, yes it is messy, and the filter is on the passenger side front right next to the block in front of the tire.  Nearly the same spot as a 24v or 12v

I find that if the motor is cool to the touch it’s not very messy. The filters usually back drain about 1/3 of their oil by then.

I still put a grocery bag around it thou.

don't they have a provision in the frame to drain the filter?

around the 5 min mark.

There is a little drain, but I don't like using it.

I've never seen that steering setup thou. It looks OE, but not the same as my 18.

that what mine looks like after i got the "updated" parts form the dealership. was a direct bolt on. when my factory passenger side broke. it was a recall. both my 08 and now my 04 has it.

His knuckle is different too, it must be a DRW setup. The drag link attaches to the tie rod, but on my truck (and another one I just looked at in the parking lot) the drag link has its own attachment point on the knuckle.

Found this online..

Bilstein Dual Steering Damper Kit for 2014-2019 Ram 2500 and 2013 ...

Hmmm. Just looked at a DRW, same as mine.

his is an 17? maybe the change over was 18?

No, been the same since ‘13.

I’ll bet it’s 2WD

Yep, no front diff.
