02 24v i swapped 5spd in place of the auto.  Im still using auto ecm/pcm with no check engine lights. Occasionally the trans temp light stays on for a few min then shuts off. The throttle response is weird and Occasionally wont rev past 19-2000rpm. Apps checked out.  I've been using the search function and have found that i need ecm/pcm reflashed? Does anyone know if this can be accomplished with a tuner? (Or do i need to find a manual ecm/pcm.)If so any recommendations? I already tried calling a dealer. They had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. Any advice is appreciated.

I had sent a email waiting for a response.  I'd like to figure out a way to do it without my truck being down. It's my only truck at the moment

Sadly you have to send the ECM in for repairs and maybe about 5 to 7 days on average to get it repaired.

I had a job where I had the client send both PCM and ECM to be refreshed for manual and everything worked out right.

When I did the auto to manual swap on my 99 Cummins 4wd, I only had to get the stock manual tune from Mads Smarty and I flashed it to my ECM.

The manual tune has an anti-stall feature built into it.

I did more searching last night and seen that the smarty is able to do what I need(i think) . I sent a email to Mads.

I'm thinking this is the way I'm gonna go. Can't really have my truck down this seems like a reasonable solution.

Problem what are you going to to about the PCM software? Remember that the Smarty will reprogram the ECM but does zero for the PCM on removing transmission controls going from Auto to Manual.

I didn't need to do anything with the PCM on my swap. Everything worked normal with no negative issues.

Going from a manual to auto, I can see needing the auto PCM to control the trans.

I took a screenshot of the email I received.  Screenshot_20241007_202138_Gmail.jpg.1011357e98e8a9f812df304ac3ba16f1.jpg
