Posted October 30, 201014 yr 2001 dodge 2500, 4x4, auto, cummins, 3.55 gearsI am in need of a good goose neck hitch. What brand and type? I would like to keep it hidden.
October 30, 201014 yr Love my hidden hitch. With my 4X4 (no lift) I had plenty of room to install. I assembled the whole hitch under the bed. I bushed the square center hole & ran a long drill up through the bed & OEM bed liner. I used a holecutter to cut the liner & bed. It exactly centers over the rear axle... my old Chevy was shop built (permanet ball in the bed) & had the ball 2" ahead of the axle center line. My trailer has the axles very far back so I have a LOT of tongue weight... no problems. The Hidden Hitch release is hidden in the wheel well... I cut an access in the inner fender liner & installed a flap of inner tube rubber to keep the crud in the wheel well.

It cost about $600. installed. It is a good set up for me.
October 31, 201014 yr I say B&W. They are awesome and can take some serious abuse. Plus when not in use, just turn it over and the bed is nice and flat! With the ball out: No bed:

October 31, 201014 yr Like your 251 miller, cant beat them. Who do you do welding for? Noticed your screen name is professionalwelder i am jw where you work I used to work at that shop. We built all sorts of things from trailers to beds to asphalt repair equipment, along with farm repair, both mechanical and metal fabrication/ welding. Due to the owner failing to pay, I don't work there anymore. I'm still working on getting paid and it has been well over a year since I worked there. Now I don't weld much anymore, just a little here and there for myself. In college working on my business degree with plans to go to law school afterward.

November 20, 201014 yr I will add that the B&W turnover ball was the best investment on my truck other than the BuckStop front bumper!
