This is typically due to a bad transfer (lift) pump. It is highly suggested that you monitor fuel pressure constantly from the cab using a fuel pressure gauge which can be purchased at most auto part stores. Also I would suggest doing a volume test to see how much volume the lift pump is putting out I think you would be surprised to find out how weak the system may be. Running the truck in this shape can cause damage to the much more expensive injection pump (VP44) so I would suggest testing the transfer system promptly. If you find the system not to be holding more than 10psi under all conditions or the volume test is failed then you should consider an after market system. A Raptor or FASS replacement lift pump will last much longer and cost only about $50-$100 more.

Great reply Cummins2k, :smart I thought that was Mr Mopar responding. You are dead on!

Kerry,Don't drive the truck until you can get this low fuel pressure problem rectified. Also check out M73M's 2cycle oil solution solvers. Basically, he adds 1 oz to every gal of fuel. Protects the LP & the IP.Dave
