my cam sensor read 0 all time on my snap on scaner should i replace it. its 38 bucks truck runs great 01 cummins HO 6 speed

Have you ever had your scanner on another CTD? It might not be able to see that parameter to display it. Have ran into this problem before but never had a snap-on scanner but I would want to try it on another truck first if it was me. If it does happen to be your truck, I would replace the sensor since it could have an effect on your fuel mileage or possibly other driveability issues.

Did you ever take the dash apart, maybe to change the light color or something?

ill see if i cant hook it up to a buddys truck. the only time i had the dash apart is to change the deck

If there is no error codes for cam sensor I wouldn't worry much...Does the tach on the dash work?Does the volt meter rise when the truck is running?Most likely working then if yes but your ScanTool isn't capable of seeing Cummins cam sensor...

tach work, volts only move when intake heater is running, i had a dead pedal and a hard start i just replaced my TPS i think it do rid of my hard start dose that sound right? im not gonna worry about the cmp
