Whos running aftermarket tires ? 17" 18" or 20" how do you like them ? What brand tire and rim ? And size !

I am really liking my 305/70/17 nitto terra grapplers on 3rd gen aluminum wheels. They ride 10x better than the oem bfg that came on my 03 and show little to no wear at 10k miles. Cant help with wheels except for 3rd gen stockers.

Thats running on your 98 ?? Yeah currently looking at H2 rims (but need modified) 3rd Gen Rims - kinda hard to find right now - dont know why Custom rims - around $150 a pop 17" was all I was aiming to do the brake upgrade - but wondering if 18 or 20 too big .... 305 sounds wide - is it ?

Yes on my 98 and they are wide but not to wide. You could go with a 285/75/17 but its not that popular of a size and not to many companies offer them. 285/70/17 is another option, although a little smaller, you wouldnt have to worry about rubbing on the control arms like mine do and every tire company out there makes this size. Where did you get 2" thuren coils, are they for a 2nd gen?

Yeah for a 2nde Gen - Don't think he ever made them publicly tho - as in he wasnt sure if he was really going to do them when I called. I didn't see much of a difference with them on - but he did tell me that. What brand are you running and do you like them ?

You didnt see much difference in ride height or comfort? I want a 2" coil but the only ones I have found are the rough country and im not sure about them. If I can get some that ride as good as stock that will be fine because I dont go offroad much.

Anyone know if 2010 rims will work on a 2001.I know the lug pattern and spacing is same ........ offset ?? How about anything else like TPMS impact the rim - or is that just seated in teh tire.thanks:thumbup2:

Yeah I found some 2011 (not 2010) that will work on price. But just not sure if the offset is the same and I have drum brakes (rear) so wondering if any issues there. I read on a trhead that can have issues with fitment on older rams 94-99 due to larger fins on the drums - but 00-01 *should* be ok .......... but not got any further to know for sure

I believe they are off an 07, they arent the true polished aluminum but they have a polished aluminum cover over bear aluminum. The early 03-05 had true polished aluminum and non polished aluminum that had sharper corners and looked a little better but you really wouldnt know the difference unless you were looking for it. Those 4th gen rims will look great on your truck. No spacers, they bolt right up!

I actually had terrible luck with the Terra grapplers i had on my truck, only got around 25k miles out of them, and the Hankook dyna pros i have now looks like there on the same path or worse. Probably going to go down a size from 315/75r16's and to a little less aggressive tire as well.-Jordan-

Yeah Im going to go look at them Saturday. Think they might be the chrome ones so hope not TOO loud. Would prefer aluminium as well - but right now its either these for $325 or aftermarket for $600. I kinda look the likes of the stock dodge rims better anyways (generally). So will see. Tires - I narrowed down to Nitto Dura Grappler (not Terra for same reason above) ..... or Firestone Transforce. Should have new wheels within the week

Out of curiosity what all do you have to change to upgrade to the 3rd gen brakes?? i got 60k miles out of my old brake pads and they always stopped fine so i doubt ill look into it any further.-Jordan-

Basically you can run the larger 3rd Gen rotors and brake pads. more stopping power.

Needs 17" rims and 3rd gen caliper brackets.
