I have a 98.5 24 valve cummins, somtimes when I start up I can barely touch the accelerator pedal and its acts like I held the thing wide open. Then I can shut it off and start back up and its back to normal. It doesnt happen at a particular time it is as random as anything. It is really driving me crazy.

I would say apps, but what do I know I cant get mine straighten out LOL

I borrowed one off of a friend and it did the same thing, I was wandering if the ecm or pcm has something that controls the signal ?? I dont know really Im confused :confused:

Did you re-calibrate the apps after replacing w/ borrowed one???

Does anyone know the voltage that the vp44 should have on the wires that plug in on the connector?? I probed a blue one with a red stripe and on idle it showed 10.25 volts, twist the throttle and it goes down erratically to like 2.xx volts wide open throttle.

Do you know what the particular wire goes too? :confused: Voltage means relatively little if you do not know what the circuit does or how it functions. For instance a circuit that operates a relay will only show voltage when the relay is being energized. Also multimeters are limited in what they can tell you. For instance checking a hall effect sensor, sure you may notice there are X amount of volts but you cannot see the wave form that the computer functions from so you have no idea if it is performing correctly without an oscilloscope. On board diagnostic scans are free at most parts stores. If you are nice to the parts guy he may be able to show you real time on the scan tool of what the computer perceives is happening with the throttle.
