Looks like a compression tester ... Install and hook up to a pressure guage

    Yes it is an adapter for compression testing. you can find them cheaper than that but it is only the adapter you still need the gauge and hoses. I've seen cheap sets for around $225 the better units run closer to $450 for everything.

    Here is mine I got for xmas 2 years or something ago. Has everything but the one I need lol. But you can see how it works if you didn't already know.

    It goes into the quick release on the gauge hose. I have one adapter hooked up..

    Hey ISX could you post up the make and model of that compression tester? I'm really needing to buy one just for diagnostic purpose.

    It wont do anything we have I don't think. Does VW crap and semis and anything else we don't own. I'll have to look again.

    Looks like you could take the guts out of a stock body & nozzle, weld up the side holes then drill & tap the top for a nipple then adapt it for a pressure gauge....I guess a hold down would need to be acquired then drilled for nipple access.Lots of trouble just to check the compression isn't it?

    Unless you have lots of injectors laying around it would probably be easier to just buy the adapter. By ruining one injector your basically throwing away an entire set of cores which will cost alot more than buying the adapter. As far as being a pain in the butt, I don't think it would be too much trouble especially if your having problems with an engine and are not sure what the problem is. Compression test will tell you a lot about an engine without tearing it down.....

    I have lots of injectors, including one set I got ripped off on. At least the shims are still good.:cool:I was kinda hoping someone would know an easier way to check compression.

    Well you could pull a spark plug and check through there if you cand find one! :lmao:The injector hole is the only access to the cylinder for a test
