Current shocks are extremely bouncy and shakey on any terrain and need to be replaced. NAPA has Ranchos buy 4 for the price of 3. For a mostly street driven truck, get the Rancho RS5000s? Budget friendly, do the job? Any positive reviews?

Do you tow or carry a heavy load with your truck? I do both and I have gone to the Rancho 9000XL for their large piston and adjustability. I have gone to the them on both my gen 2 and gen 3 truck. Some other folks that tow heavy have used the Bilstein 5100s and have good luck with those.

While I dont tow often, I do tow heavy. 15k 5th wheel. I run the rancho 5000's and they are working fine. The price kept me out of the 9000's. If I towed alot more, I might have gone with them however.

Thanks. I run unloaded 85% of the time...and I really don't want to fork over the extra money for bilsteins or fox or the 9000s if the cheaper 5000s will fit the bill

Not sure where the 5000's stack up in the shock hierarchy, but if you don't want to break the bank, there are Thuren's Overland shocks for $300/set as well. I went with those after looking at 5100's and other upper end shocks, but decided I had no idea how much shock I really needed and didn't want to spend a ton so I gave them a shot. They are a tad softer compared to a bilstein 5100, but have survived a few hundred miles of offroad adventure, and work well on road as well, so I can't complain. I have not towed with them yet and so i can't comment on that aspect.

"Rough Riding Ranchos!" That's what they're called. Terrible ride.

Haha I see, but for the price I might have to try the newer rancho rs7000 monotube, comes with a 90 day ride warranty.
