I just want to get everyone's thoughts on tapping my injection pump. From what I've read, if the pump is going to fail from being re-manufactured improperly it will fail within the first month or couple thousand miles. I've had my industrial injection on since Christmas and have had Zero issues. I have a stealth plate, but they can still see the pricked wire when it's torn apart, and they can see the top bolts have been removed ( Probably voiding the warranty ). I'll probably be putting my he351cw on in the beginning of June and I think the comp, 100's and turbo would match really well.  Let me know what your thoughts are! Thanks in advance

How are you planning on controlling the veins? Mine is a cw (fixed geometry) Can't beat free!

There is a couple options in mind, depends on whether or not it will be available by the time I'm ready to do the swap. Otherwise I may do fleece or banshee controller.

Very nice! I bet some guys would love to see a full write up on that. When are you planning on starting?

Not to hijack your thread, but I do not have a timeline on when I want it in. I'm trying to piece it together part by part until I have all I need. Then hopefully get it done over a weekend...

I would definitely like to be the first to do that writeup on here!

No worries. I'm trying to do the same. I'm going to order a downpipe from stainless diesel or DAP, then I'll clock the housing and have to chop up my pipe to the intercooler or build a whole new one. Then I'll have to build a bracket to mount the wastegate actuator to. Other than that I think the swap should be fairly painless!

Have you referred to any of the swap writeups done on cummins forum?

Yeah the 80 page write up... I've read every page, but there is never a specific way to do what I want in there.

College student = NO MONEY haha I can weld though! I wonder if Jacob would give me the dimensions??

I know the college student adventure... I was there once myself. the silicone tube makes for installing the 351cw really nice. I've a couple installs with them and a couple with out and the one's with them were a lot less work. I think the install times were like 4-6hrs the ones with out were like a full 2 day project.

I'll be doing the he351ve, soon, too!

I remember reading an install in Diesel Power Magazine when The VE 1st came out. Maybe it was the last year it was still called a Dodge truck, not sure!

Does anyone know of a good place to buy stainless grade 8 studs to mount the turbo?

Why grade 8 stainless?

Standard stainless is all I used for my PDI manifold and they get torqued to 35flb so no real need for a 308 grade stainless.

Thanks for the heads up on the hardness.... I guess I just assumed! I think I'll just end up having to go to cummins... No luck with ace or home depot

Well I have to correct myself they are M10x1.5. Is there anything wrong with the stock ones?

The flange that the bolts go through on the HE351 is thicker than the HX flange

Are you sure M10 x 1.5? I keep reading 1.25
