Starting to get a bad vibration in the seat and the floor that is really noticeable around 55-60 mph. Just had all 6 tires road force balanced yesterday and that didn't help. Which my buddy told me it wouldn't help. Hes saying ujoints. I tried moving the shaft around to see if I could see any slop anywhere but couldn't. Just did a complete brake job also. Could the drums be out of balance? How hard is it to change ujoints? Do you need special tools and presses? Carrier bearing bad? Shaft out of balance? Don't know where to start. Don't really want to start throwing money at it. Any way to tying to help pin point it

I'm experiencing a similar issue. Replaced the u-joint at rear axle, suspected the carrier bearing but still haven't narrowed it down. Never thought shocks, will be watching to see what y'all come up with.

Took the fifth wheel out for the long holiday weekend. Was a 4hr round trip with the campground having some pretty steep hills throughout it. After getting there i coundnt get a run at the first one i didnt think i was going to make it up and This morning my tranny felt like it was slipping pretty bad. Could that have anything to do with the vibration I am having?

Yea, that could have something to do with it. Are you running a stock torque converter?

Yep complete stock tranny. Looking to find a trustworthy builder here in central ohio now to see my options or to check it out.

A slipping converter will grab and slip constantly in lock up causing vibration.

Yep.That is what I was getting at. Call Goerend Transmission and see if they have and authorized builders in your area. www.goerend.com

Yeah don't sound good for me. Think I have multiple problems. Tranny slipping, carrier bearing feels sloppy and maybe a bad ujoint somewhere. Time to work some OT

Drop your tranny pan and fluid into a white 5 gallon bucket. If your pan is lined with clutch material, your converter is probably done. How many miles? After the fluid sits a while in the bucket, the clutch material will settle to the bottom and you'll see it when you dump the fluid into another container.

On the flip side, once drained, the tranny may NOT be drivable if refilled with fresh fluid because you lost all your friction material. So, you might want to keep driving her till she officially craps out and start fresh....$$$

broken flax plate?

Generally that causes a bunch of noise. I had a GM 400 flex plate come out in two pieces and had no vibration.
