  1. Ok I have now figured out whether it is pressure or vacuum and it is most definitely vaccum. I stopped to get diesel after I got back from Brownsville, TN and went to pull the cao off and there was enough vacuum on the tank after running for 2-3 hours that I had to PULL the cap off. My big line kit was waiting on me when I got home so I try to get it put on tomorrow and see if that helps. Will check the check the tank vent also and get my guages installed since they are here to.
  2. I checked the price today on John Deere filter with my discount and it will still be $56 with tax. They are cheaper online even with having to pay the shipping. But I can get cheap oil filters if anyone need some lol. Haven't checked on fuel filters yet but will look into it.
  3. I order the turbo yesterday around 4 p.m. and paid for overnight shipping and to my surprise it was at my front door at 9:30a.m. I got the new one on and took the silencer ring since it was all ready out on the old and didn't plan on much difference but boy was I wrong. The old one would talk to you a lil with a goo load on it. This new will sing at 8-10 psi. I will give it a few days and then really get a good load on trailer and see how it sounds and decide if I wanna put the ring back in or not. It has made a lil difference performance wise but can't feel much. Once I get it broke in right I will get on it and see if I can feel a difference
  4. Idk yet. Looked at it online and it showed 76.25 but where I go to look up parts Idk if it shows our cost or list price. It usually shows list but I hardly look up parts that way so I'm not for sure. I will call tomorrow and see. I just looked at receipt from oil filters and picked them up for $7.69 a piece plus tax.
  5. Well I'm an employee so I get a pretty good discount plus I get an extra 15% off filters in February. Picked up four oil filters for the truck for like 35 dollars:thumbup2:
  6. Not a problem bud. Always glad to help out with saving money. Just wish I could found a turbo for less lol. - - - Updated - - - To all: I'm gonna check on the John Deere part number and see what my cost is on it. If I can get them cheap enough I will pass the savings onto others. Give me a couple days to find out on it and I will post about it.
  7. Online will be cheaper. O'Reilly can get it for $83. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/6736-BHAF This thread has a long list of cross reference numbers along with a couple places people have gotten theirs.
  8. It will need a whole new cartridge but since I dont have to send it back as a core I will rebuild it when I get time and have a factory spare put up. I just dont have the time to order parts and fix it myself right now as this is my only means of transportation. I would keep driving it but since I do not know when the leak started or how bad I really dont trust driving on it unless I have to
  9. Well i got my BHAF in today and was putting it on and jsut decided to peak and see if the silencer ring was removed and found that alot more than the silencer ring was MIA. All I could see was a black film of oil. :banghead: I called around here and could get that one rebuilt through work for $800. Started looking around online and found some that were $1100 for an OEM replacement. Called one place and they had their "in house" brand which had the same warranty as the Holset but half the price and I dont have to send mine as a core. I know you pay for what you get sometimes but I had to get the cheaper one and hope it is as good as factory ones:pray:With the expeditied overnight shipping and everything the total was $630.
  10. Would the ECM and PCM need to be synced together? - - - Updated - - - Would the ECM and PCM need to be synced together?
  11. The truck started right up this morning. When I got home I did not remove the fuel cap and I will check it again in the morning when I go to Ripley. I believe whatever is happening in the tank whether it is pressure or vacuum is what is causing it to lose prime.
  12. I do it alot of the time and was just wondering what is better. About the only time I use the clutch anymore is taking off from a stop, downshifting, towing, and when I step on the go pedal a little harder than I should for MPG sake.
  13. Anyone else out there float gears? If so have you had any negative effects?
  14. I hate to say it but the truck was not treated right before I got it and didnt know that until after I bought it and got it home. Changed oil and filter and fuel filter before i did anything else after I got home and I almost drove 3 hours back to where I bought and hit the guy. I drained the oil and only got a gallon and half or so out of it and when I did the fuel filter I had to wipe the trash out of the bowl with a shop towel. the filter was almost black it was so dirty. the truck has ran great until this and the trans doesnt seem to have any issues. Rear diff cover is leaking a little so that is on the fix it soon list.
  15. I was looking at some RV275's for in the future. It wont be to long away though:thumbup2: gotta set the valves soon so it will be then lol. I would like to know which kit Mike got in the article on the Vulcan big line kit that goes all the way back to the tank but cant find it on Vulcan. I just found out that the fuel pressure guage is electrical not mechanical
  16. I just broke down and ordered guages a couple hours ago. Got the three guage pod with a 1500 EGT, 30PSI fuel pressure, and a 60PSI boost guage. Paid 227 and got free shipping, dont believe it was a bad deal but we will find out soon:shrug: Was looking at a 3/8 big line kit from filter to VP. Any suggestions???
  17. I just went out and the truck started right up after sitting for approximately five hours. I took it for a 20-25 min drive and made sure that it got to operating temperature and then drove another 5 min or so. I drove at slow speeds and at highway speeds also. When i got back home I removed the filler cap again and it moved a large amount of air once again. I believe the tank is being pressurized:think:. I will see what it does in the morning when I go to PT. @JAG1: The filler cap is only a month or so old because when i bought the truck they had a locking cap on it which was nice but it was a PITA to deal with so i replaced it with a brand new from Autozone. I'm not saying that isnt the problem as I know how some parts can be brand new and be worse than the one that came off lol.And the record to all its a little harder to drive stick in house shoes when my seat is set for when im in my work boots lol:duh:
  18. The light is on now. The other night I had found one of my battery cables vibrated loose so I think that is why the light wasn't on then. It has been on everytime since I put the cable back on. And now that I think about it my IAT is plugged in because i can read the temps on SG2
  19. Mike you just reminded me that I pulled my fuel cap off when I got home and Idk if the tank was pressurized or had a vaccum on it but there was a large amount of air movement when I pulled the cap.
  20. Would the transfer pump be a good place to start?
  21. My truck has done it twice now. The other night I started it to go to town and it took three times cranking to start and they were long cranks like 15-20 seconds. notice that my WTS light was not on so I thought it was just the cold air cause it was 20 degrees outside. It started fine all other times that night. Started it to go to town again today and it did the same but WTS was on and it was 51 degrees today. I believe that the fuel system is losing prime. Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I will go out in a couple hours and see if it takes overnight or if it will do in a few hours. Truck has been sitting for almost three hours now.
  22. My truck just got new batteries on it before I bought it but the guy replaced them at different times. I also know that one battery is damn stout because one of my cables vibrated loose from when he put them on and didnt tighten one of the cables. I started the truck on one battery after the WTS ran for 30-45 seconds in 25 degree weather the other morning. It felt it though and lugged down ALOT!! lol
  23. Mike you would prolly find a way to run them outside of the topper to so you could keep your fuel mileage lol:smart:
  24. Yea the overhead console said that. I went ahead and bought the SG2 today and put it. Did the same drive at same speed but had some wind against me and SG was showing 15. But I just put it in and idk if that has an effect or not
