  1. That would really suck here in southern California where u need to parallel park. I have that issue but not as bad. I get maybe a full turn before she runs out of juice in a dead stop. I don't know what the problem is
  2. Well I'm amazed at how much difference a bottle of friction modifier made. Threw a bottle in and semis to be 80% better. Maybe I throw in another bottle. Thanks alot for the help guys. I will look into getting a service done on it. At the same time I did this I installed a DTT noise filter for my Trans gear searching issue.... another 80% difference. Night and day. Also fuel mileage noticeably up. Thnx for all ur help fellas. I will try update that other post.
  3. I will get on it as soon as I can.... but I will note that it not just a noise it vibrates with its noise to go with it ... ... but I must know, could there be a lubrication issue causing that much vibration... i mean, I would think that "royal purple " would be plenty ... unless of course my diff was on its way out prior to servicing
  4. Oh.. Wait scratch that. It might just be limited slip. Just reread the last part.
  5. I don't have limited slip I know that. I will jack it up here in next couple of days and start moving stuff around. Thnx for ur input I will check back in.
  6. Ok gents I need to know what I'm looking at here. Every time I turn my wheel all the way left and left off the brake to start moving slowly I feel a bad vibration. I had a buddy follow along listening and it is coming from the rear end differential... i know my wheel can fly off so I parked it. I recently changed all fluids 75/90 royal purple. I want to know worse case scenario so I know to open her up or not.. I'm looking at getting layed off so I don't want to open a can of worms with my truck up in the air and not be able to move it . I am mechanically inclined but not with diffs.... thnx in advance fellas.
  7. I didn't know there was such a thing to balance the turbo... i do want to do what I can to rule the turbo out.. i assume I would have to take it down and send it in to get looked at??
  8. I upgraded my stock turbo with a BDdiesel turbo... it did the same thing with both turbos ( burn oil) . And my truck does smoke a little blue at idle. I been chasing that problem since I did the no 6 cylinder rebuild.
  9. Thnx fellas for ur responses.. i will have time to go thru them later today.. I'm leaning towards apps or cable. I haven't been able to check. My truck does burn oil. Did ever since we did a rebuild on #6 cylinder. How would a turbo cause a runaway? Interesting because it does burn some oil about 2 -3 quarts / 1000 city miles...
  10. Well. I went to pass a Sunday driver going up a hill. Doing 50 in a 65 .. i passed him up got on the throttle a bit a she just kept taking off until I was able to slam the throttle few times.... it could have been real ugly because I came real close to rear ending few cars and it's raining. I did notice today the Trans searching for overdrive or whatever gear... just jumping in and out . Also my data console up above the rear view said CCD.. last week I reset the APPS wich helped my shifts a lot smoother and made a huge driveability difference. .. i need help on this fellas. I have the $$ to fix it right the first time. That's it.. thanks in advance. VP says reman on it I owned truck for 30,000 miles. Injectors I believe are stock
  11. Exactly what i need. Saved me 5 hrs of searching. Thnx. Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk
  12. Hey fellas. Anyone know if a smaller more compact version of bhaf.. like the Napa 2790. Same inlet diameter but shorter.. i have dual batteries and not enough space for the 2790. Thnx Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk
  13. I never thought of that.... I actually have a radiator pressure test pump kit I bought at a yard sale once. Had no use for it just thought I would someday. I can rig something up for that and also boost leak test.. good idea man Thnx. I extended the blow by hose so it should be piece of can tapping in to itsent from my cell...
  14. OK... Its been a while but I'm back with some info, I haven't done anything to motor such as valve guides or anything major. I have noticed that I have been using a hell of a lot less oil. After the motor was refurbished with new no. 6, I used royal purple synthetic. Which I was told I wasn't supposed to for that break in. Well that said and done just all of a sudden stopped burning so much. I figure the synthetic oil wasn't allowing proper break in?? Next thing, after getting on the throttle under load, I noticed oil in valley area below injectors. It would burn away then show up again after getting on the throttle again. It wasn't coming from the valve cover but somewhere close. I grabbed a 10mm socket and found the intake plate ( below grid heater) bolts were a little loose.. Truck sounds a little better and doesn't seem to smoke as much. Still has a whomp whomp sound thru intake but doesn't seem as bad. Any thoughts
  15. Ha.... I swear I haven't seen this post. But I like it ... Its what I was thinking minus the high speed electric actuator. I saw one in grand rock website for about $160. Any pics ??? sent from my cell...
  16. I'm sure it would ... Not planning on running both at same time... Its not the look I'm after.. ... But I want the stack because I drive in small busy towns in very very low speeds a lot, diverting the exhaust up would ____ off less people. The exhaust get bad just putt putting around town. My bed already has the hole cut out for the stack.. now that I really think about it, running the exhaust to tailpipe and have no activity from the stack would look kind of dumb. Lol sent from my cell...
  17. Wondering if anyone has ran a exhaust diverter to run a stack and swap to tailpipe?sent from my cell...
  18. I take my infrared thermometer and check the temperature on my wheels every now and then before road trip ( after running on highway ofcourse). Might be overkill. But if one wheel consistently hotter than the other then obviously a problem there and u catch it before ur trip .. sent from my cell...
  19. Valve guides...... Hmmmm that is interesting. I really don't know that deep into the motor so maybe I will get more input on that... But I will do some research. sent from my cell...
  20. No worries man. Yeah.... Now the leak down test I haven't done , I need to put that on the list. Bad part is the shop I use is extremely busy so anything need to be done it will be in shop atleast few weeks. But I will def get that done asap.. sent from my cell...
  21. Rancherman...... I will gladly rebuild the engine if I knew for sure that is what it needs.... The whole point of my thread was to try narrow down where my problem is. If ccompression is too low then I rebuild the motor that simple. Since my compression is consistent somewhat low.... Or not low ... I'm still confused whether 250 is low normal or just plain shitty .... I will not rebuild until I make sense of this... I rebuilt the bad cylinder and every other cylinder looked great with hone marks still present. Already have $3k into this doing the #6. sent from my cell...
  22. Interesting. I need to re read these to make sure I understand this right. I never cared to understand compression until now :banghead:sent from my cell...
  23. Might be a dumb question... But does the 5.9 put out enough oil pressure to spin that centrifuge system?... I read somewhere that was not a good idea on a 1st gen... Maybe ok on 2nd gen??sent from my cell...
  24. The no. 6 was not melted at all it had those scrapes on the piston and walls. It didnt smoke before but it does now... I'm going to try take some video and catch the sound... I just figured out how to adjust low boost fueling on the Edge Comp but haven't tried it out yet .. but even then it hazes with box off... Also I will pull the AFE off to see any difference but I think I had already tried that and sound was the same. sent from my cell...
  25. Yeah I know the PO tried to do some shady ____ and hide a lot of issues I found later ... Sucks that I didn't run a compression test prior to pulling the motor and I have $3k into it now. Should have just rebuilt the whole damn thing regardless.. I would like to k ow more about the timing possibly being off. I will look into that. sent from my cell...
