mine has always started with 1 cycle. doible cycling isnt the issue, cutting out power at 60-70, shakey like its sputtering. somethings sure going on is it safe to run cetane booster with my 1oz/gal 2-stroke mix Michael? i will tell the shop to do a compression test and maybe injectors if that doesnt work. what was your thinking on the IAT sensor? maybe i could buy a scangauge from advanced auto

blue smoke and rough starting
so a few days ago i went to start my truck after work (sat 10 hours) and when i started it, it took 3-4 cranks instead of normal, ran rough for the first few rotations, then bright blue smoke was coming out of the exhaust. it has done this every time ive started it since. any ideas whats causing it? i need this fixed asap, vacation trip coming up soon! also on a side note, my fuel pressure gauge has a mind of its own. between 20 and 30 psi. bounces occasionally, spikes, doesnt alter whether i floor it or at idle

Need advice!
Well the problem he has is he has 5700 in it as of last week and has no use for it as his daily driver is a 4x4 also and roomier. So it sits in his garage. I can understand though, after owning a 6.0 power stroke I understand the feeling of losing money (a lot of money) on a vehicle. It sucks, I'm going to borrow it for the weekend, go over it with a fine toothed comb and think about it before I jump on it for 5. I don't want to seem too desperate. I just know a lot of people rag on these little trucks, so it's more peace of mind buying from an old friend that babies everything. I hate decisions, someone just loan me a few million permanately? Haha

i had to pass on the truck i previously mentioned, he wants $5000 for it, not $4000, and im just not sure its worth it.. it does have the metal guides for the timing chain though, he told me that thanks for all the solid information! its easier to find info here than on tacomaworld forum, and this isnt even a toyota forum

thanks! thats what i was looking for! they sure hold their value well. any problem areas of the truck i should check? the only bad part is the truck has a new paint job but whoever painted it forgot the back of the cab...

would you say 4000 is too much for a 93, 22re 4x4 5 speed, if its not rusted anywhere and a good solid frame? 150k body miles, 60k on motor just curious on your thoughts! by the way, you painted a very disturbing mental picture in my head with the melt your underwear hahaha

i am not one for the cold lol i have never heard of anybody wearing 7 t shirts and a windbreaker hahaha good for you though, at least its original! ill have to try it sometime i think id be better off with an old toyota so i cpuld still have a pickup available i cringe every time i drive the dodge in the salt.. seems like it rusts them quick!

i thought about it, but that would suck in the winter also lol i found a very nice '93 tacoma 5 speed 4x4 that my buddy is willing to sell, brand new motor and paint job, 140k body miles for $4k. thinking about it hard. im way too lazy to walk home at 4 am every morning! oh and i found the installation instructions

Need advice!
im already looking as we speak, god i cant believe the prices on those things even 10 years old! they hold resale value better than our trucks

Need advice!
oh no i have a smarty, i meant the high idle box mod from DAP
-
Need advice!
that is what i figured, but not what i wanted to hear! i believe i will try to find me a decent toyota tacoma or 4 runner so i can have something to take hunting that cannot be heard for 15 square miles! is there any writeups on how to install the high idle mod though? i would like to purchase it, but i am not the best at things like that. if theres a video or how-to writeup id appreciate a link! thanks guys

So it shouldn't hurt anything if I get the high idle mod and just idle it for a few before leaving? There's still the drive home and turning off though.. It all just worries me, I'm very worrisome about my baby haha

Need advice!
So I just moved to a new place that's located exactly 1.7 miles from my parking spot at work. (Good and bad I guess) I am thinking of buying a new vehicle, but that's not really what id like to do.. With winter coming around, is this short drive there and short drive back going to hurt my truck? I've always got my truck up to operating temperature before shutting off, but now I have no choice really. Should I buy another vehicle to drive on those short trips? My last question is this: how often should I drive the dodge if I do buy a new vehicle, the dodge will be the 2nd driver. I'd like to keep miles off of it, but a car payment is just not what I need right now. How long is too long to let a truck sit? Thanks guys!
