  1. I hadn't planned on trying to get thefloor fixed by FR. I already have a way of fixing it, but I figured since the roof needs repair I would show them the floor. I have fixed everything else and improved many little things.
  2. Could be....... Actually it is short for Forest River the parent company of the trailer..........
  3. The way I see it is thatif anything were to happen it would be on what ever company is contracted to FR. I'm sure they are required to have liability insurance for their load. If nothing else I can turn it over to my insurance too.
  4. I had to sign a piece of paper saying that I won't hold FR liable for damages including blowing a tire and even bearing failure! The agreement even has 30 day turn around. Time will tell.
  5. 48???? Geez I wish. 48 was 14 years ago! Gettin' old ain't for sissies...........
  6. I got word today that the repairs are approved. The dealer is securing the roof to make the trailer towable. Sometime this week my trailer is headed to Indiana. They (dealer) says it will be "the better part of a month" before I see it again. That quick will surprise me.....
  7. Judging by the refraction see you must be blind as a bat without them!! I used to have worse than 20/400 uncorrected before Lasik surgery so I have an idea about the heavy glass lenses. Lasik has been great for me.
  8. I didn't plan on having them fix the floor. The roof issue is how they got involved. I know how to fix the floor and have it way more solid than original. I figured what the heck, let them see what they can do since I have heard of other trailers having the same issue and they wound up back at the factory too. I was waiting for my wife and looked at a Trailer Life magazine today. In it was a request for help to get reimbursement for a new roof that did what mine did. The total cost of that roof was $9047 and change!!
  9. I plan on it. I just got back from talking to the dealership where my trailer is. They told me last Friday to call the Warranty Manager at their main store. I called him three times during normal business hours and he never called me back. Since we (wife and I) were in the vicinity I stopped to see what was going on. The Service Manager told me he got "bitched at" by the Warranty Manager because he doesn't want to deal with customers! WOW...... Anyhow, as of this morning they are waiting on warranty authorization from Forest River and need to arrange transportation. Hurry up and wait.........
  10. I am guessing Kessler is still there. I am in north central Minnesota. Funny how the ad had an address about an hour north of me and then all the sudden it isn't there.... Make you go HMMMmmm! I replied SCAM, SCAM, SCAM and the posting went away.....
  11. I hope I don't have to dry out a one year old trailer that is supposed to be stored inside!! If I do I will not be in a good mood.......... You did get my curiosity up as to how to dry them out, though! Hm.... Does this sound "familiar"?......... The last email from "her": Funny?!?! The posting disappeared! I was going to report it too..........
  12. Well, believe it or not, the warranty on the roof is ten years!! At least the dealer said it, BUT the floor warranty is one year and that year was up on June 2! The problem was reported and documented before the warranty was up, so it is covered. I do know how to fix the floor, but if they will all the better. Hey!! Miracles do happen!! I convinced my wife we can buy a cheap camper to stay in while waiting for ours to be fixed!! WOO HOO!! I found what looks to be a decent trailer. The problem is it is on Craigslist (flag#1), it is real cheap due to her husband passing away recently (flag#2) and 'she' said "If you are interested in buying this camper and would like to know more info about the process, please let me know asap." Her wording in the email.(flag#3)........... It is supposed to be a 2002 Keystone Montana Mountaineer 315RLS. We'll see... I can buy something like this for the summer and turn around and sell it to recoup most if not all of what I paid for it.
  13. Yea, I hope there isn't any water damage. It did rain the first night it happened. After that the dealership has been keeping it inside every night. So that means they move it out and back in every day so I'm sure it is a royal PITA for them too. The warranty guy is about 100 miles away at their main showroom so he probably doesn't much care how much of a pain it is.
  14. What ever floats your boat!!
  15. That reminds me of a slide in camper I bought knowing it had a leak. It took me most of one summer to rebuild it. It was a decent camper, but boy, was it heavy!
  16. Yea and she will still get mad because there is a lot of back ground noise and I can't understand her, BUT there was (is?) a clear understanding when it comes to used fifth wheel trailers.
  17. Trust me, I didn't even need my hearing aids to get that message...........
  18. But when your wife says NO then you need to listen..........
  19. Well, it as been a week and nothing said to me. I called the dealership yesterday morning and they said it was in the Warranty Manager's hands. I called three times yesterday and left messages. Guess what? No call back. All I wanted to know was if there was forward progress or not. To say I'm frustrated is an understatement.
  20. I FINALLY got the actuator on! So far so good. I really like the EB! Gonna make it much better when I have my trailer on! Now to see when I get my trailer back.........
  21. Nope. 2WD 3500 four door dually
  22. Yours (if it's the truck in your sig) should have a bit more clearance than mine. I will try to look around on the interwebs and see if I can find anything.
  23. This picture is from when I was in southern New Mexico (before the roof failure).
  24. I am wondering just how much clearance there should be between the rubber and steel. I also wonder if these springs were replaced when the Southern Comfort did their conversion.
  25. I was in eastern Wyoming and had some 50 mph gusts from the side. Fortunately the trailer was in a campground, but even the water in the dog's dish was sloshing over the side. My wife thought for sure we were going over........
