Torque Converter Lock / Unlock Issues
I had the same issue a couple years back and went through the usual tricks I could find in the forums. Eventually I landed on the thought that it may be my throttle sensor (those aren't cheap). So I did a recalibration by unhooking the batteries for about 30 minutes, hooking them back up, turning the key on, depressing the throttle slowly all the way to the floor, and letting it back up slowly. Solved the issue, although I've had to do it a couple times. I'm sure I'll have to replace that sensor eventually, but this is good for a pinch situation.

Hydroboost/power steering
Ok it's working and I love the truck again. So I noticed some strange issues with the HB unit upon further inspection. Bolts holding the body together were a bit rounded, the main seal seemed to be not seated and causing a gap in the body. Small things, but I hadded a warranty so back to autozone it went. Being stressed at this point I wanted to make sure I had all the trash out so I left the lines unhooked and started the truck only to find some very disappointing pressure (slight dribble). So it was off with the basically brand new pump to cash in on its warranty. Pump in, flushed, HB unit, in and bled, and we're back to being operational. It kinda erks me a bit to think it may have been a faulty pump to begin with but I'm going to try not to think about it. But lesson learned.

Hydroboost/power steering
I didn't flush it simply because I was pour in a quart every couple days and the fluid was pretty clear. The lines are shuddering on the hydroboost end and the pump reservoir is emptying out and filling with no problems. The hydroboost was replaced last night and the pump was replaced about 6 months ago.

Hydroboost/power steering
The condition of the pump is basically new. I bought it 6 months ago but due the hydroboost problems I have only driven the truck and few hundred miles, maybe. I have flushed the hell out of the fluid today. The type of fluid is just peak power steering fluid, not the expensive kind but certainly not atf. The hydroboost being defective has crossed my mind since it's doing the exact same thing that the old one was doing.

Hydroboost/power steering
This system has seriously ruined me on the Dodge truck. Every one told me before I bought it "yeah that cummins is great! Runs forever! One problem though, it's surrounded by dodge parts..." All of the noise and vibration is coming from the HB I can see the lines flex when the wheels are turned to the locks. Applying the brakes makes the HB shakes and the pump vibrate bad enough to shake the fluid inside. I'm out of ideals the pump is clearly putting out pressure, the HB is less than 24 hours old, I've even swapped lines around just to make sure I didn't have them hooked up wrong and still no change. This thing is seriously about to hit Craigslist.

Hydroboost/power steering
Well I fired it up and the problem still persist. Wheels are still off the ground and I couldn't help but notice that all lines coming out of the HB unit are piping hot. The only thing I can think of to do now is pull the pump, but it doesn't have but a few hundred miles on it because of the problems I've been having with the truck...

Hydroboost/power steering
Me and the wife are currently flushing and re bleeding the system as we speak. We have the wheels off the ground and engine off turning the wheels lock to lock. We're getting some air but we have yet to start the truck. But yes at an idle if I push the brakes I get a strong kick back vibration in the petal and moaning noise. I get the same effect in the steering wheel at an idle only it acts like there's no power steering. Is there anyway the system could be sucking in air without leaking fluid?

Hydroboost/power steering
The fluid is clean. It flushed itself when the power steering pump bled out and burnt up. And I could believe the joints and ends but this problem only happens when I'm sitting still and at an idle.

Yes. The wheel shudders like the brake does. The same noise is made when the brakes are applies or the wheel is turned.

Hydroboost/power steering
Ok I posted a while back about some issues I was having with the hydroboost system. The power steering pump went out and I replaced it. Then the hydroboost started making lots of noise, and shuddering when the brakes were applied. I would lose power steering altogether at an idle, but all this only happened after about 5 minutes of driving. Today I finally broke down and swapped the hydroboost I still have the same problems.... I'm at my wits end here wit this thing! I don't know what else to do. Btw it an 01 2wd.

Hydroboost pulsing
Ok I'll give that a shot and see what happens thanks for the help!

Hydroboost pulsing
I'm gonna guess that its gotta be air. Because the hydroboost worked fine after I did the re seal until the PS pump went out. I guess I need to jack it up and start trying to flush out the air.
-
Hydroboost pulsing
There was a little bit of foaming in the beginning but nowe there is none. I figured air is the culprit. So I should pull the return line, lift the front end, and make half turns instead of lock to lock. Also I did refill it with a low buck fluid. Could that be causing problems?

Hydroboost pulsing
It's a 2001 2500 CTD 2wd with 235xxx miles

Hydroboost pulsing
I can be in park and depress the pedal and get the pulsing. I have had the hood popped and could see the hydroboost vibrating. It's definitely not my rotors or pads.
-
Hydroboost pulsing
No the brakes work just fine it's the brake pedal that pulses and the steering wheel getshutters a little hard to turn until I give it some throttle then the pulsing stops the wheel turns like normal and any noise it was making stops.

Hydroboost pulsing
Not entirely but there was lots of fresh fluid in the pump from all the timessential it was refilled due to the hydroboost leak. So I would say the fluid was probably 75 percent new. And I forgot to mentioned if the engine is spinning more than 1100 rpms the problem almost goes away.

Hydroboost pulsing
Ok so about 2 months ago I resealed my hydroboost using the moparman recommended guide and solve a leak problem but before I could do that my wife drove the truck around 70 miles and 65mph or higher which lead to the death ofy original power steering pump. Having replaced the PS pump the HB unit makes lots of noise when turning the wheels and pulses the brake pedal fairly hard when the breaks are applied. I've flushed the old fluid out. Jacked the front wheels up and turned them lock to lock, and tried my best to avoid any foam. I thought the problem had been solved but a 5 minute drive proved otherwise. Any thoughts on this? Or tricks I haven't tried?

Radio trouble
If you go with a new head unit make sure to check your ground. I swapped a new one into my 01 and it started blowing the fuse that holds all instrument lights and marker light out side the truck. Super fun to find out when I got off work and the sun wasn't up.

hydroboost/master cylinder issues
It started right after I installed the new pump.I've lifted the front tires and turn the wheels lock to lock numerous times. I thought I solved it but 5 minutes down the road and the brake pedal was pulsating again and the moaning noise was back. But I have noticed that if the engine is over 1100 rpms all the symptoms stop. All the noise is coming from the hydroboost and it visibly moves when it's pulsing.

hydroboost/master cylinder issues
On the subject of the hydroboost. I recently did the re seal thatso on the forum. Well the PS pump seemed to be lagging so I went ahead and replaced it. Well I filled the pump and started the truck it felt fine for a second then I started getting a moaning noise the wheel shutters and the brake petal shutters when depressed. Didn't want to start a new thread for this since its related to the hydroboost

Howling turbo!
Ok my 01 has developed a howling noise (think wind blowing). I'm 99% sure it the turbo because its from the passenger side of the truck and the noise continues for the 3-5 seconds after I kill the engine. I have read that it could be the waste gate stuck close, and I've checked the manifold bolts, some were maybe a half turn loose but still no change in the sound. I've checked the plumbing going to the intercooler and to the intake, all the clamps are tight. Unfortunatley I dont have a boost gauge so I cant tell if the psi has changed. I'm out of ideas. Not sure if its coincidence or not but the noise first appeared after my brother borrowed the truck and ran it low on oil. Not sure how low but low enough to not register on the dip stick.

Seats!
Ok the last of the metal wire netting has popped under my driver seat and now I'm basically sitting in a lawn chair. Anyone have an ideal if theres a company making aftermarket seats? I've looked around but no one has is making a seat that will accommodatefor the built in seat belt. Has anyone delt with this proble yet?
