I found a nice 1998 dodge ram 2500 with a 12v. The guys said---------- I have for sale a very rare 1998 dodge 2500 Cummins diesel. These trucks where only made for 4 months in 98 with the older style Mechanical 12valve engine with the good P7100 injection pump. It also came from factory with the newer 24valve interior and a a full quad Cab, with all 4 doors opening. All the 12valve trucks from 94-98 that where quad cab, had only the two front doors open and the back doors where solid non opening doors. This is also what makes the truck super rare cause is it near impossible to find a 12valve with a full 4 door quad cab. Aside from a little history on the truck here are the specs on it. I bought the truck off the original owner with 260,000kms. He had purchased it new in 98 and it was a special order from dodge because he wanted the 12valve engine that was an option that year and full quad cab 8 foot box. Full Laramie package with wood grain dash, leather seats, over head console, Cassette and Cd radio, rear sliding window, power mirrors, power locks, etc. The truck also came with a factory installed Cummins Exhaust Brake--------------- My question is. Is it standard in 1998 with new interior of 24v and rear opening doors and get a 12v in option?? or this truck is only a 24v model that the guys put a 12v in?? 1998 and older in quad cab truck the rear doors don't open??? Final would it be a good buy? 275 000km truck looks clean and could it be a reliable truck? Thanks lot of questions haha!!

Yes Mike!! depend on shipping cost, I'm from Quebec,Canada..... I'll drive the truck and check the electronic for bad ground or anything else. If I have to buy a new APPS maybe a Timbo in the futur, I'll write you about shipping my APPS

Thanks Mike and leathermanoed! Mike in my truck I have the Airtex APPS # 5S5352 . This morning I've set the voltage at .515 around. Like instruction come with APPS between .5 to .6V. I relearn and drive the truck today. I check for code,no code. sometime it has 3-4% apps on edge. drive the truck, stop the engine and restart.... on my edge sometimes apps % is ok 0-1% idling. Mike I check for AC at alternator like you did in your video and seems ok but maybe my voltmeter is not enough good. Will try to check it with a good ones.. Thanksd again for help!!

Thanks for comments and knowledge guys!!!! I checked my voltage yesterday. I was around in .410 range. maybe too low?? I relearn the APPS adn drive it . On my edge I got 2-3-4 % throttle at idle.. I'll try to put the voltage in .5 to .6 range and relearn it!! Maybe gonna go with a Timbo next time.

@leathermaneod, The one I buy is Airtex # 5S5352 from rockauto around 3 years ago! I think its the same you talk?? Yeah it got me the same number ..... In the back it dont have sticker for voltage adjustement!!??

Hello guys, I've just returned from a road trip and check with my edge JWA trouble codes and found a p0122. I notice a change in APPS % . I set it and got 0% at idle but after around 1 month now I have like 3-4% at idle and when colder with intake heater cycle, its 5-7% idle and drop to 0% when grid heater is on, after goes up to 5-7% .. Now I'll try to disconnect the batteries and try to relearn the APPS! Can it be the APPS begin to get tired? I changed it 2-3or4 years ago (dont remember) with an APPS from rockauto! If I need to change the APPS wich one do you recommend me? best for cheap!! or simply the best that will last more. Thanks

Hi guys, I found my stupid problem!!! with the help of Jon at Dynamic.. I put the OD overrunning clutch in the wrong way ! now the truck run fine. thanks for all the help

Hi, I've been to tranny shop and road test with the guy. He told me possible cause ... bad clearance in OD section, solenoid or maybe a valve in the valve body.... He give me a sheet. for no 4th gear . it said . if 9 psi or less in OD port. :solenoid defect. or 3-4 shift valve blocked ..... if around 15 psi. piston seal or ball in piston not there .... if more than 50 psi. burn clutch or bad assembly in OD section ... REMEMBER its for no 4th gear ... SO I put my gauge in OD port to test it! ... I have 4th gear..only slippage or flaring during 3-4 shift.. my reading is 100psi at light throttle and more throttle around 115-120-130 psi... So my conclusion is if I have a bad piston seal, burn clutch or misassambly OD. I would have slippage in 4th gear!! its not my case, when shifted to 4th it drives fine. (Remember I have a shift kit) So my thinking is maybe a valve in valve body not working properly or the 3-4 accumulator?? or OD solenoid??

I guys sorry for late answer .. I was moving location and I got internet today! I drive my truck all weekend for moving and it runs great except this 3-4 flaring or slipping during shift! Thanks for your input, tomorrow I'll go to my local transmission shop, the guys want to see what it does. I'll keep you in touch!!

mine does only during the shift from 3rd to 4th. When I'm on throttle like 40-50% there's a rpm jump but it seems OK if I try very light throttle when it shift from 3rd to 4th!! maybe I misassemble the OD section?? governor and TCC solenoid problem?? Notlimah Does yours make the same trouble? Thanks for reply guys!!!

yes it's rpm jumping when it shift .. mine does it only from 3rd to 4th . the converter lock on 3rd but when shitfting to OD there's rpm jumping , when in 4th it lock good and eveythings fine!! ???? Valve body problem??

Thanks guys!! The only thing I see is the adapter plate, where's the bellhousing bolts.. The oil pan need to drop a lot to clear it!!?? If I need to remove the adapter, I need to remove the trans.??

mine did that to, sotck wheels and all 4 had cracks and 1 slow leak. I scrap the mags and got use MT wheels... no problems!!! seems like bad casting
