  1. Thanks guys, I'll put more pic when finish. And wish the flange will be straight for no leak!! Good idea Mike but for this one I'll do this just like that. It's a test for my truck.. I have some modification to help me with next fabrication..
  2. Hi guys some update about the oil pan!!! I have some pics but it's not complete. I need to finish welding! It's a hard work with some basic tools. I'll try to post pics, I think the size is too big
  3. Yeah good idea!! I'll try the oil pan alone and see what's happen with oil temps. I'll monitoring in summer and winter to see difference.
  4. Yes thanks.. Mike are talking about like the derale transmission oil pan for 47re .... I was thinking of fabricating a aluminum heat exchanger welded on the pan to pass antifreeze, trans.oil.. Maybe help for winter??? Was just in my mind!! I know in winter aluminum will not be best to help oil , here I am we have good cold winter so it's gonna be experimental!!
  5. Yes that's a good point! I'll put it to the test to see what's happen. difference with stock and Alu. pan!!
  6. I understand what you mean! I'm a professional welder and I have a tig welding machine. I would like to simply do like a stock oil pan. Aluminum cause the stock ones looks little cheap, rust easy and on my truck my pan begin to rust. It got a big ding where the drain plug, think some one jack the truck right there!! I'll take time to do it during I dont have the trans. in place.. I'll try my pan on my truck first and if it's good I'll make some for interested!! Me too, would like to see normal oil temp.!! I know at some point less heat is better for the internal parts of engine.. durability! For aluminum it can absorb much heat than steel but like I said it's not my first reason for building the pan.
  7. Thanks I'll post pictures in the futur!!!
  8. heat dissipation and durability! I know if you live where salty winter, aluminum can corroded but I think it would be better than stock steel oil pan.
  9. Good, it's gonna be maybe for this summer. At this time I need to rebuild my transmission and work on other things.. I'll test it on my truck first and I'll take pictures when the product will be finished!
  10. Hi guys, I would like to know if somebodys would like to get aluminum engine oil pan? Maybe I'm gonna make somes or at least one for my truck to give a try!! I'll try to take pictures when building for buyers if interested.....
  11. In my area, in Canada. I go to auto parts and when I order a filter it comes in package with the pan gasket. For the moroso pan gasket I'll use this for my custom made deep pan. It's a thicker gasket with metal inside and its reusable!! If using a new deep pan you not really need it, cause aftermarket aluminum pan is made stronger and not warping but the moroso gasket is a good choice to prevent again leaking pan.
  12. Thanks Mike I'll talk to him, Yesterday I had remove my trans. on the truck. I need to find the trouble first!!
  13. Hello, I would like to know the best place to order online a transmission rebuilt kit with upgraded parts at a great price!!!! I'm from Quebec,Canada. Like solenoid upgrade.. and some hard part I need to change for my rebuild. Like overunning clutch, OD snap ring..... I've checked transpartswarehouse . cascade transmission . americain powertrainwarehouse . revmax .. I already have servo upgraded so don't want to pay for complete rebuild kit with this upgrade I have already.. Thank you hope some answer for a good place that I can order all the parts at same place. shipping cost is a lot for my location!
  14. I'll use the moroso trans. pan gasket. it seems a good one.... on summitracing.com # MOR-93110 For transmission pan leak!!
  15. also use strap ratchet from the back of trans. to gripped on frame in front of trans. to help approach from the bellhousing. help me too
  16. it's a great tricks, I did that with a jack and strap ratchet when was time for installation. I was alone during disassembly and installation!!!! Help a lot
  17. Yeah true!! The level is right on the dipstick like stock one.. You Too!!
  18. Yeah was thinking of pump seal or TC cause in OD its supposed to be lock. By my remembers the TC lock but little slipping in OD .... Don't know what can cause the TC to leak.. if it's the problem!!
  19. Could it be the pad on your shift fork that could be wear??
  20. HI, Thanks Hag.. It's a good thinking, The only thing thats afraid me is maybe the flow cause my tubing inside diameter is little bigger than supposed to be. For vibration,I dont think cause it's welded and bolted to valve body like stock one.... Good explication I'll try to go further with my customization extension!!!!!!
  21. Thanks guys!! I'll need to check it and rebuild it this spring... Only thing I don't understand is why it's slipping in O.D.? Cause I lost a little pressure and the OD clutches slips.. I remember that I had a little lost of line pressure. It was around 110 cruising when OK but now around 100 psi
  22. Hi, my truck is stored for winter. I need to rebuilt my trans. this spring cause last autumn I had a leaking problem at the inspection cover. The trans. shift Ok but in O.D I felt a little slippage . I was thinking of an oil pump seal or maybe the converter???? If someone can help. 47re transmission. just been rebuild 2 years ago by me but had a problem with a hose to the cooler. It disconnect and lost all the oil. After that the trans. run fine for about 1 month until I work on adjusting TPS and got this leaking at the cover!!! the shift become more strong like 1-2. like a shift kit after TPS adjust and before the leaking problem .. . I install a transgo diesel kit in my rebuild 2 years ago!! What you think??? Sorry for my text and my english, I'm not so good.. Try my best Thanks Francis And new single disc converter at same time than the rebuild
  23. Thanks Hag, I understand but on my filter extension I put an o-ring between the VB and the extension. I made like a plate with o-ring, 3 inch of around 3/4 I.D tube, another plate and the filter. So my filter is at the bottom of the pan. My question is, is it too long my piece for the oil pump. Or need a 1 or 1.5 inch long like the companies sells? Francis
  24. Hi guys, I would like to know if a too long filter extension can cause problem to transmission or to the pump. I custom made a deep pan 6 inch and made a 3 inch filter extension... What you think?? the company sells one with around 1 to 1.5 inch of height. Thanks Francis
