Disrespectful kids
So I was at the local cafe this morning getting breakfast and the village police chief came in who I know pretty well. (Not in a bad way haha) He came up to me and we started talking and apparently around here they have had a rash of dodges with tow mirrors being vandalized. He said they caught a few teens who were out "moose hunting" as they called it. Which he explained to me is they go around smashing off tow mirrors for kicks. I get the whole name of the game as some dope came up with tow mirrors out looks like a moose I guess. He told me it's been happening around this county and a few others in the surrounding area. I just don't get the younger generation now days ? Anybody else had this happening by you?

Nice.

Engine squeak, NOT serpentine belt
From the video it's hard to tell but sounds like a dry throw out bearing/clutch noise. I would venture a guess as it's coming from that area. Not the engine.

Totally off subject but Scott is your last name funk? Just asking because that is my last name

Before I give you a answer I want to talk to my tech in the morning that is a electrical whiz on this. I have my suspicions but want to get his input less I steer you in the wrong direction. What model Allison are you using?

Ecm swap
I don't recall seeing it but I go through quite a few ecms a day more ISC ISL ISX and ISB 6.7 than the older b 5.9s

They Can disable where the engine picks up road speed from the tailshaft in features and parameters right away if they are already hooked up should not charge you any more for changing more than one parameter. Now going back and reading the post some more I realized you did have an Allison you should be able to in the ECM parameters choose that you have an (auto) Allison transmission behind it and can have a tail shaft speed pick up if your transmission is equipped with one

hundo is what we would charge to do a flash, parameter change is $59

AC blew up!
The minute or so that it is open before you install the lines on it is not going to make a difference that can be recovered with a vacuum. it is when you have everything disconnected for hours on end replacing everything and the original is open to atmosphere the whole time is why it should be replaced. But to the each their own. I replace them.

AC blew up!
Damage can occur if there’s excessive moisture inside an A/C system. It can cause corrosion, as well as possibly degrade the performance of the compressor’s lubricating oil. The receiver/drier or accumulator should be replaced any time the system is opened for service, and most compressor warranties require it. The desiccant is only capable of absorbing a certain amount of moisture, and when the inside of the system and/or the receiver/drier or accumulator are exposed to the atmosphere, the desiccant can become very quickly saturated from humidity in the air. If this occurs, the desiccant is no longer effective, and will not provide future protection. Additionally, the filter inside the receiver/drier could be restricted by debris that may have been inside the system. This could diminish refrigerant and oil flow.

AC blew up!
If your going to pressure test best to use nitrogen if you have access to it. It's what I use in our shop. Was just passing on what I was taught about not using compressed air for pressure testing. Spent 4 very boring days at Peterbilt's corporate training facility on HVAC systems and that was a big thing the trainer touched on. Not saying it won't work but like Michael said gonna have to vacuum it a lot longer to make sure it's dry I still would replace the accumulator then if you do use shop air. No not really. I use straight freon in a 30lb keg on our ac machine. I know theirs propane and other garbage that can damage the ac recovery machine if it's not properly filtered. We try not to work on stuff that has been recharged with the do it yourself came if at all possible

AC blew up!
Do not introduce compressed air into your ac system bad things will happen as in needing to replace the receiver dryer/accumulator because of the moisture in the air. Any time you open the system those should be replaced anyway. Really should be left up to someone who has a/c certification if you are going to be doing much more than using the crap in a can that they pass as freon(more propelents and other junk than anything). The EPA is pretty strict on ac work being performed by unlicensed individuals. Got a few techs in my shop that don't have ac certification and they can't do any ac work with out risk of big fines. Just sayin

Fuel sump and airdog fp150 install
I'm lucky where I'm at no emission testing or annual inspections.

Fuel sump and airdog fp150 install
No offense taken. Installed the sump because in all honesty I did not want to drop the tank. Fastest way to keep it on the road. I weighed my options full well knowing the truck doesn't see off-road therefor no real chance of tearing it off so sump it was.

Fuel sump and airdog fp150 install
Nope keep this one on the road or through corn field access and that's about it. My f150 on 35's is what I take out if I gotta go any where farther than that.

Nice good to know. They weren't on when I bought the truck. Never really thought of putting new ones on but now I know where to look if I ever decide to put em on.

Fuel sump and airdog fp150 install
So I installed my 7x.0105 injectors last weekend but ran out of time to do my airdog and sump. It always seems to be the boss lady has stuff for me to do when I want to work on my truck so yet again I'm only left with Sunday to play. was a pretty straight forward install on the injectors seeing as my day job is a diesel tech so was a walk in the park for me. Had them in and set the overhead in about 2 hours. Truck runs awesome, but I'm glued to my FP gauge and getting on it obviously the pressure was dropping more than I liked. Drive it nice and it stayed right around 10 psi. Still I needed to install the airdog just was waiting for the weekend to come. I gathered all the necessary things I needed during the corse of the week (push lock jic fittings, 1/2 brass tee, and some new fleet guard filters, piece of 1 1/2 od stainless pipe) and woke up bright and early to overcast sky's and 80% chance of rain.☹️ Figures but I said hell with it if it rains it's just water. So I got the airdog mounting bracket on the frame slapped on the pump and filters ran all the lines. Built my own return pipe to put inline with the filler neck because I didn't feel like dropping the tank and the sump I got didn't require me to. Used a piece of S/S pipe drilled a hole big enough for a 1/2" pipe bushing to fit and burned the bushing in. Screwed my brass 1/2" jic fitting into it and cut my filler tube hose and installed that for my pump return to connect to. Turned out pretty good I must say saved me $40 too. Went on to drilling the pilot hole in the lowest spot on the tank and drained the remaining fuel into a bucket. Then used the hole saw supplied with the sump and drilled the hole. Cleaned up the edges with a deburring tool and shoved the inner plate in. It's a one bolt sump with a big oring. CNC machined in the ??. I used a bit of anaerobic sealant on the o-ring even though it doesn't call for it. Just a habit I guess don't want any leaks. Tightened it up installed the debris drain plug and hooked up the supply to the pump. Put the 5 gallons I drained back in the tank. Ran the wiring harness under the hood and down to the pump. Primed the pump and fired her up. Seems to idle a little better now or it could just be my imagination. Ran her to town to put some fuel in. Checked for leaks. Running a steady 15 lbs and it drops just a bit to 12-13 at wide open.

4 Inch Exhaust Needed!!!
I'm out in the sticks so I don't really care about how loud it is was just saying the misses gets woke up every night when I get home from work(2nd shift) and she works first shift. Almost gotta coast up the drive. I like the sound not obnoxiously loud but it'll let everyone know it's coming.

4 Inch Exhaust Needed!!!
I have mbrp 4" from the turbo back. It seems to be holding up just great. I'm always happy with mbrp products. Kinda noisey but it's straight piped not bad but it's hard to be quite and sneak home late at night without waking anyone.
