  1. Pretty sure this dimension should be ~ 0.0800 WARNING ! : Its advised that you not turn this more then 2 Full turns clockwise! For those who are technically inclined that is .800" of an inch.
  2. Wow, all good stuff. you just don’t know what you don’t know !
  3. Hmmmmm..... now I know why it did something very weird once on some ice. Thanks dripley
  4. Hey everyone, Thanks and great conversations. My truck “Has ABS” I am still learning all about this, but I can say with this manual height sensing proportional valve all it can do is restrict. With only one line supply it would be impossible for ABS independently on the rear. my logical opinion. Tom
  5. There is a Tech Service Bulletin TBS 05-04-98 easily found once I saw a forum about it and wanted to share it here. http://dodgeram. info/tsb/1998/05-04-98.htm Essentially it proportions the fluid pressure based on height/ load. Not the perfect scenario. So the Rod was Rotted off this valve when I got the Truck. Here is the info I found and I am going to Eliminate it because I wil not load anything extreme or do any road racing..... Here are the important snipits from the TBS I hope this corrects the link there was a space in the address http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1998/05-04-98.htm
  6. Thank you MoparMan ? and Bob. again Great feedback that will help many I suppose. And a add on to the Emergency Brake Cable, in the last forty years I have replaced a few dozen and what I do every time is this but I am a bit particular and only need to replace my cables once, so far. I learned this from my dad on his Packard. ( I will get my pictures and post a topic ) I heat up a cup of gear oil. I put the cable through the corner of some ziplock bag and rubber band it tight to the end connector. i hang the cable and the bag so it cannot spill and I pour the oil in and wait. Usually moving and spinning the cable occasionally. Most of the time it comes out the other end in not too much time. If I leave it overnight it always works, I back blow it with air getting little out. I HAVE NEVER SEEN any oil leak to the drum that was more than dried by the dust. Just a trick if you intend on keeping your stuff for the long haul. Tom
  7. Excellent thanks ! Great resources. I will at some point get the actually dimensions when I replace my brake cables and give some feedback.
  8. Ed and / or Bob, just happened upon this thread and a great to know retrofit for the wheel cylinders that I don’t know how anyone could know would fit without experience. Would either of you know the exact “Alternate Part “ and part number for one of the manufacturers?? Great info, Thanks Tom
  9. My only comment would be did you notice anything loose when you took it out? Hopefully you put the bolts back in with some Loctite blue. The casting should not have cracked unless there was some unusual force or torqued on it from either being loose or possibly the flywheel being loose more likely the starter bolt .
