  1. well he has the idiot light, so they must of thought of "being careful" as you said this could still hurt it. seems like quite the gamble with this one.... it seems more of a older person that owned the truck, it doesn't have a cd player just cassette(assuming kids go right for cd players or mp3) Im okay with spending the money on a aftermarket fuel pump and fuel gauge right away, I just dont want major issues up front.
  2. it looks like whoever installed the low pressure LED light on the truck. So they must of knew it was a issue, How do I know if it's a new lift pump and injection pump? I mean aftermarket is kinda advice but not OEM.
  3. All, I am buying a 24v dodge ram 2500 with 205k, anything I need to be aware of? This is the one with the lift pump issues? sorry for not reading forum but I plan to buy as early as tomorrow morning. I have GTALK and SKYPE if it's easier for someone to chat that way..... - - - Updated - - - It looks like the injector pump is a vp44 which is junk?
  4. So does a 5.9 2006 have solenoid valves on top?
  5. I own a 6.7 so they have a solenoid on it. Anyways I was wondering how a 3rd gen knows when to fire the injectors. Also what year was common rail introduced for cummins engine?
  6. As far as I know they shouldn't. Hard to read and troubleshoot. I'm much more hands on.
  7. Wire testers have poke ends. You can push through wire to test if needed. At work unable to watch video :banghead:
  8. Get me pictures and I will tell you how to check it.On a switch there should be 3 wires. One for power in. One for reverse window motor and one to turn motor for window up. Just disconnect wire to switch in all three spots. Find your live wire and put back on switch, then switch switch to roll up motor and test the two wire spots that are missing.I guess you could even test with all wires left on switch as well.
  9. Go to parts store and by a 12 volt test light. Cost like 5 bucks and will save a lot of headache. I won't worry so much about voltage because there should be no drop. If there is a drop in voltage window would be slow. You just put ground on something and start touching other side to stuff till it lights up!
  10. The larger line does not sense on start up. However once the volume is filled with fuel still only certain amount goes through pump whether hose is big or not.
  11. My truck holds 5.7 gallons total. How much you think I would need with flash?
  12. I have smarty Jr. I guess its suppose to be very safe at any levels. Now the smarty Sr can do some damage. That's why I didn't buy it lol.
  13. I think cause it easier on alumni um then regular
  14. I have stock injectors.
  15. Yup. I know. Mopar man made this one in steed of me hijacking another thread.
  16. I would say 6.7 engine. I think I'm going to buy some culligan water to flush truck out. Put some in radiator , run then drain and do that twice.
  17. That's what dodge calls for. --- Update to the previous post... CAUTION: Use of Propylene-Glycol based coolants is not recommended, as they provide less freeze protectionand less corrosion protection. 'The cooling system is designed around the coolant. The coolant must accept heat from engine metal, in the cylinderhead area near the exhaust valves and engine block. Then coolant carries the heat to the radiator where the tube/fin radiator can transfer the heat to the air.The use of aluminum cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, and water pumps requires special corrosion protection.Mopar® Antifreeze/Coolant, 5 Year/100,OOO Mile Formula (MS-9769), or the equivalent ethylene-glycol base coolantwith organic corrosion inhibitors (called HOAT, for Hybrid Organic Additive Technology) is recommended. This coolantoffers the best engine cooling without corrosion when mixed with 500/0 -ethylene-glycol and 50% distilled water toobtain a freeze point of -37°C (-35°F). If it loses color or becomes contaminated, drain, flush, and replace with freshproperly mixed coolant solution.CAUTION: Mopar® Antifreeze/Coolant, 5 Year/100,000 Mile Formula (MS .. 9769) may not be mixed with anyother type of antifreeze. Mixing of coolants other than specified (non-HOAT or other HOAT) may result in engine damage that may not be covered under the new vehicle warranty, and decreased corrosion protection.
  18. No no. The timing map. Want to adjust prefer engine to run after words.
  19. On your site?
  20. I have smarty Jr and won't mind messing with timing to better truck, also cause I can. Will timing hurt anything? It is the Jr which almost no settings are hard on it according to MADS.
