  1. I agree that it looks like unburned fuel. My truck and my VW diesel both look like that when starting on a cold day and it has a distinctive look and smell. White smoke can only mean two things; coolant or fuel...and nobody can mistake the smells of fuel and coolant. The tips have been known to occasionally come off of an injector, so you no longer have a fine mist going into your cylinder, but a splash. It can only inject as much fuel as is in the pipe for that cylinder. The tip could very likely have got out the exhaust pipe without doing any harm, but this is something you really want to check out very soon. It only takes a few seconds to pressure test your coolant system because you definitely want to rule out a head gasket or some other such nastiness but my money, (or yours, more accurately), is on the injector.
  2. I have had an Adrenaline with the original display/controller since 2009....and it still works fine. I did fry some bits by boosting the truck with the thing plugged in, but I got out the soldering iron and replaced some bits with parts picked up at Radio Shack. It's still working like a hot damn. I'm very happy with it...and even happier that they are back in business. That will make the truck easier to sell when I get around to doing that. I've only used the stock tunes and have been more than happy with those. I can hit 35psi boost on ADR1000 tunes, level 3....every other level just means crazy pyro temps and black smoke.
  3. I run a goldenrod filter between the tank and the Raptor. They originally supplied a small inline filter but my paranoia got the better of me and I just wanted something with more capacity. The drain on the goldenrod canister is a bonus. It took some rural engineering to rig up a mount but it's been a couple of years and has been working flawlessly since. I believe the total budget was around 30 bucks. Considering it was almost 10 dollars for one of those crappy tin inline filters, it seems like good value to me.
  4. For a thermostat, you might try one of the many rad fan switches, stock on many cars. These are normally very reliable, in general operation and temp accuracy. Ebay has a selection of cheap choices as will your local wrecker. If you manage to track down a type you want, you can even get one new from an auto parts store. Many are cheap even new. These are usually of the style that threads into the rad but would be easy to zip tie directly to the rad.
