Types of metal and fuel?

Recommended Posts

What type of metals should I use or not use in the fuel system?  Or does it even matter?

Are there some metals that don't play well with fuel?  Thinking about ball vales and fittings.

Thanks

I've always heard stay away from copper and anything zinc coated in fuel systems.  Copper is weak and zinc can flake.  I've also heard bio diesel and copper will cause a chemical reaction.  I'd just stick with either Teflon SS lines or bio compatible rubber or stainless steel. :thumbup2:
