Well I have built  the truck that I want. After looking at a new 17 F-250 and seeing the sticker 70k, this build is finally happening. So bear with me while I try and describe it. I have a 2004 F-250 4x4 that had the six oh in it. That's the primary vehicle, I purchased a 08 F-250 that was totaled for the interior, dash, and tranny that had just been built by Revmax. I knew the owner of the truck and sent him there. I also purchased a 02 Cummins for the build, and a 07 Ford F-250 front clip. So for the interior, in order for the dash, climate control and gauges to work, I swapped the firewall. Also swapped the complete wiring harness from front to rear and the computer. The 02 Cummins had some treatment too. Starting with a rebuild, it only had 93k on it. Billet squirters, ARP studs,  110# springs, Glacier Diesel intake and heater delete, Rihno intake horn, Fummins twin turbo kit, Injectors DDP125, new VP 44 pump, FASS titanium 150 fuel system, and Quadzilla tuning. Also forgot a mishimoto intercooler. The frontend is  07 frontend with Harley headlights. Truck is complete, but having issues with throttle. It will only get to 1850 rpm and then acts like it has a governor. The original ECM was a manual one. I sent it off to have it reprogrammed due to a massive lope. It fixed the lope, but now will not go over 1850. So I bought an automatic apps and installed it, it seems to act better, but still only 1850.

I'm not any help with the issues you're having, but I like the paint on that motor.  How long did it take to complete all of this?

Sorry, I have to set up the notifications. Total project time was around 250 hrs. I have finally gotten it running right. I still have the front driveshaft to install, the AC lines to make up, ladder bars, and the vacuum system for the 4x4. I will be taking it to Rudys Fall Jam in NC in October. Want to put it on the rollers and see what it has.

Be aware EPA laws are changing. You have to install a 2007 or later engine in a 2007 body. Check with your local laws like I got this tid bit from a friend in Boise area. Too many people are cheating EPA laws by yanking out the smogged engines and retro fitting older engines so the laws might be changing nation wide soon. Be aware.

Well time for an update. All I can say is GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY!!?. This build was amazing and fun, although I had some issues along the way, it was worth every penny. I have changed the injectors to DAP 7x.012 and also put a ATS fummins torque converter in. everything else is the same. So far I have put 30k miles on it, towing light and heavy, city, and hiway miles. The only thing I'm having a hard learning curve with is the tuning. But slowly I'm learning. I have used the tune builder on here and then did some tweaking to it. Again thanks for all the help.

Another update:

Well an update on the suspension. I did allot of research and measuring and thinking, and thinking some more. My original front axle had 350k miles on it. So I researched rebuilding it and just parts were around 1800. That's new everything. So I decided to go with the 08 suspension. Guess what, all the brackets bolted right up. Had to drill some holes but most holes were there to line everything up. The radius arms mounts were bolted to the frame with 5/8" grade 8 bolts (7 each side). The coil spring buckets were bolted on with 1/2" grade 8 bolts (6 each side) I purchased a 4"zone lift kit with new radius arms. The track bar mount bolted right up, but had to drill and tap a hole on the frame for the front bolt and make a tapered spacer for it. I had to use a Rough Country adjustable track bar to center the axle, the one with the kit was too short. Off by 3/4". The 2 hardest parts of the job were:

A) getting all the brackets off the 08 frame, man what a pita.
B) trying to mount the 08 sway bar. I made some mount adapters and the are just temporary to make sure everything is good then I will redo them. They look crude right now.

All I can say is wish I would have done this when I was doing everything else. Man what a night and day difference in the ride quality, turning radius, and braking. I will post up some pictures of the work shortly.
