Who's been through the Blues?

As of right now I'm planning on making a 300 mile trip from Boise ID up to the tri-cities area in Washington to meet Marcus and get a dash core from him.  Upon mentioning this to some people I've heard to be careful in the Blues mountains.  While the trip should only take a day, I was already planning to get a set of chains, bring my jump pack, some blankets and provisions just in case things get hairy and  I've always got some basic tools and fluids in the truck.  Is there anything else I should be worried about?  I'm not really worried about the truck, it's never let me down before, just more worried about unfamiliar territory.

I have traveled the blues in Oregon. Some two lane roads can get a little skinny at times, but I think if you go slow around turns so you have time to stop incase you run into someone spun out. It's probably safer going that way than being with a bunch of other traffic that thinks they are experienced race car drivers. I always worry about the guy coming from the other way if he loses control and goes in my lane. That is a tough one.

On one occasion I left for a long trip home when the news was saying a big bad storm is coming. tI went perfect being that their was almost no one on the mountain rd I was on. For 200 miles I went 45 mph almost the whole way and really enjoyed it.
