Can they be pulled together?

I need to quickly getbny throw out bearing changed before leaving for a trip tomorrow. Thinking of I pull both cross members that I should be able to pull the trans and transfer case as one unit with out draining the fluids that are brand new. Has anyone done this?? Is there enough room? I have a HD trans jack, so I'm not worried about weight.

It may be possible but is it manageable?  Someone with a manual transmission will chime in.

If you need to drain the new fluid buy a new oil drain container and use it exclusively for transmission oil.   I do this for my auto transmission when I need to do internal work like on the valve body or adjust the rear band.  I wrote on the side of the container "ATF ONLY".

Problem is taking all the driveline off and transfer case so you can balance the transmission. I typically drain the transfer case and pull it off. Then the transmission can be slid back and change the throw bearing. I'd be careful it's very possible the clutch is nearing the end of life. The other fail would be someone got the clutch hot and cooked the grease out of the bearing.

I just put a stage 6 dual disc clutch from south bend in it over the weekend out of my truck with cracked block. Bearing seemed fine so I used it.

I did get it all pulled as 1 unit, actually balanced on the jack very well. Bearing still seems fine. I think the squeal I'm getting is from the pressure plate fingers not having enough pressure against the Bearing when the clutch is engaged fully. Pivot ball is slightly worn. I put a washer behind the pivot ball, and put the new Bearing in anyways. Hopefully button it all back up tonight before work, bed is calling my name.

If you are pulling it by yourself I highly recommend separating the Tcase from the trans. The t case makes that heavy trans a whole lot heavier and much more awkward to maneuver in and out. With 1 or 2 larger persons helping I would say yeah give it a go pulling it all together otherwise you are going to be fighting it.
