Its not going well, thats for sure. So much for that bottle of scotch, it will have to wait a few more years. But, its still America. We still had a free election, and I am still at work today doing the best job I know how. I will still pray for our country, our leaders, our servicemen and women and our decisions. Its not over yet guys, though I don't look forward to paying the piper for the decisions that are made this term.

I am reminded of a saying, Albert Einstein?" Idiocy is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results. "methinks GOP (which i've been supporting my whole life) needs to look at their management. And find/promote the right candidates. Never have I been so conflicted at the poll as to NOT vote for either!I swear, those 'in charge' these days just seem to 'pass the buck' on accountability.. listening to the Republican stratigists last night recount what happened, and all I heard was "we need to do this next time""we should of done this or that""WE will learn from this"Cripes, didn't "WE" learn anything last time???? ummm hey guys, who exactly are you "we" guys?? seems like you have a pretty cushy job.. maybe you should look at YOUR performance first! :banghead::banghead: Frickin politics as usual :banghead::banghead:

Unfortunately I think the country has gone a little too far the wrong direction and complacency along with apathy from the government and those that permit/request the government take care of them will prevent the rest of of from getting back to good until it all goes to absolute hell and WE have to start over.....and then I suppose WE can say we learned from our mistakes. I blame Someone. Soap box out.

I did vote, as i see it. It didn't work the first 4 years, why not let someone else try. I could speculate and say it shouldn't be that hard to do whats right while serving as President, however, I am confident that its not the President alone that is the issue, its the government surrounding the President that fail to fix the issues. "by the people, for the people" my A$%.

Actually, it could be easily argued that the increase in .gov assistance in the form of everything from phones to foodstamps is just what the people wanted, and they want it for the people. More promises for free stuff, less restrictions on your morals and with a wishy washy sense of right and wrong = more votes. By the people, for the people... sure. The people have changed. This isn't 1980 America any longer, unfortunately.

I'm really surprise that we are heading down the very same path. Personally I didn't vote for one reason. You would have to vote for the less of the two evils. HUH?! They are both evil and wrong so I can't vote.

Why choose between the lesser of two evils when there were 6 people on the presidential ticket one of which would have been a very good choice. Gary Johnson got my vote. Lew Rockwell makes some good points today on the subject. http://www.infowars.com/gop-in-deep-trouble-ron-paul-looking-good/

everything under the sun can be fixed here! Should start a new "Sticky" "Where to buy bulk K-Y"

The white house will be passing it out along with our new tax hikes the first of the year  The local news had a chart of Ohio and how each county voted - let me tell you Obama did not win by majority vote. But because Obama won the big ones with all the electoral votes he "won" Ohio. This is not the general reflection of our state but hey were just a bunch of dumb farmers our opinion doesnt mean squat :moon:

Maybe I see things a little different than most do. I believe if your not working towards resolving the problem, you are the problem. There are a lot of folks out there that lost their jobs over the past few years, a lot of those have moved to working two jobs, downsizing where they needed to and making ends meet. Others haven't ever had a job and yet stand with both hands out waiting to be given everything they WANT. I again revert back to people becoming complacent and it only being about number one. If your gonna reach out your hand, it should be to help someone up. There are those struggling to do whatever they have to to take care of their family and there are those who have a family because the government pays more for each kid. I feel horrible for those that lost their jobs and are suffering because of the selfishness of others that haven't ever earned anything. I nor you can take care of everyone, but I refuse to voluntarily take care of those that aren't willing to try to take care of themselves. This is definitely not what the constitution meant. I think a lot of things need to change, no matter what party is in office. There is so much more, but I have wasted enough typing breath as I no more than you will make a singular difference in the performance of our government, and its about moral character and integrity. Two things a lot of people lack these days.

I've been saying for years, "If polititians actually 'fixed' something, they would not be needed very long!! The great DC 'perpetual motion' machine just keeps gaining momentum.

Everyone needs to read the book "The Law" the classic blueprint for a free society"

written by the French statesman Frederic Bastiat at a time in their history when they were at a point where we are right now closer to socialism than a Republic.

it is an easy read it is only 70 pages and the last 11 pages are just quotes from him as a statesman in the French Government in the 1840's.

It is the best writing I have read that lays things out in lay terms of what exactly we are facing today. History always repeats itself and this book will prove it more than could be imagined. I recently read it and thought he was alive and writing it for current events.:smart:

Folks should also read the "United States Constitution" as well as the "Federalist Papers", to get an idea of how the "FOUNDING FATHERS" viewed a "tyranical" government run-a-muck!!

??????????:banghead:

I truly don't understand your reasoning here!!! The choice was quite obvious IMHO!!!! Even if you had to hold your nose voting for Romney. What about your local elections..........they didn't matter???!!!!

:USflag: Remember, we're Americans and have the "privilege" to vote based on our Constitution which the Democrats want to subvert!!!! Not all nations have that right/privilege. It'd seem many on the right took your stance and decided to not vote. The numbers show that the conservatives that didn't vote would've put Romney over the top. All I can think of saying to you know is.............:wtf:??????

I have more than :2cents: to give on the current issues at hand. I just don't feel like writing a book. I will say that I voted, and for the first time as well! I did not get registered in time before the 2008 election. I voted for Mitt, as I knew it was the only useful vote. I agree with Mike, though. IMO, Neither are good enough to be president. I would rather of had Ron Paul to be the closest for president. I ordered a video-series called, "Constitutional Literacy" by Michael Farris. Its 8hrs and 20mins long. 5-discs! They are broken down into "episodes" and each cover an issue or point. Each day, I will atleast watch 1 until done. With the amount of knowledge that has been shed in just the first three I have been able to watch so far, it would make your head explode! Its amazing... 7th grade was the only time I was ever educated about American history and the founding. To this day, I still think about whether or not my teacher is still there and how I wish I could go back and personally thank him. Heres the site if anyone wants to consider buying their own series: http://www.constitutionreclaimed.com/ I know I will be using it to educate my children if I ever have them someday. :thumbup2:
