I have a Cooling Fan Question

Recommended Posts

Ever sense the Body shop/insurance replaced my Complete Fan assembly after the Accident 2yrs ago my fan runs constantly. "I mean I never hear IT lock in or out even in the middle of winter 10f-15f degrees i can start it up and fan is fully engaged and when you take down the road it sounds like standing beside a jet airplane before takeoff  :stuned: ..  after talking to a few people, I'm pretty sure they installed a aftermarket POS on my truck from keystone auto..

ARE there anything i can do to adjust or re-calibrate it..

Years ago, I added a Flexolite fan...  actual fan assembly...  to a 84 GMC I was towing with.  The clutch was disguarded & the fan flexed flatter at high speeds.  They are still made but I don't believe they are offered for the Cummins.   The dual electrics are not recommended for towing

for an OEM Dodge or Cummins?????

No. For a quality fan clutch designed for a Cummins engine. Cheap autozone clutches are not designed correctly hence the weird constant lockup. Like I said above the last one I purchased for a friend was $111 bucks for his 1992 Dodge Cummins. NAPA fan clutch. A Cummins clutch would be even more. As for flex fans won't work nor will electric fans. Not enough CFM of air movement.
