Hey guys, my names Tristan and Im from central PA! My current project is a 1993 Cummins 12v 5.9 motor that me and my brother are in the process of rebuilding, which I have planned to go into my 01 Ram 1500. So yes, Im taking on the long, frustrating, confusing and expensive engine swap from gas to diesel. Ive been planning on doing this for a couple years now, and ive finally been able to have the time and finances to do so. So, with that being said Im glad to be a new member and I appreciate any help, tips or support in helping my vision come true!

Hello to all from Miami FL., My name is Edwin Hernandez, I just registered here because it seems like I always end my research at Mopar1973man.com, so its time join the family. I look forward in contributing towards the community, I’m not a Cummins guru but I have learned a few things in that past 2 years. Here is some background info on me, I have been working on gas powered vehicles as a hobby since I was 13 with my dad which has been a professional mechanic since his Army days in the 70’s where he was a fleet mechanic. He is still at it and is currently a service tech at a local KIA dealer. With that said I have reasonable amount of experience when it comes to gas …

  7. Some of you may see our postings on FB... and not know what is going on. This is what you don't know. Our daughter Sonya married Freddie from the Ivory Coast (Africa). They have a 2 year old daughter Alleah. They have been trying to adopt Freddie's niece & nephew (Freddie's brother was killed in the civil war there & their mother is struggling just to survive). In the African custom, Freddie is expected to care for his brother's children... (and he does send money back). The Ivory Coast had an election recently... which is not being followed & the country is swiftly deteriorating into violence, possibly returning to civil war. Allica (the niece) has been liv…

Just recently picked up a 1999 24v, Quad Cab, Long bed with just over 265.000 miles. First diesel, love it so far. Shows signs of use for sure as a work truck. All stock except for an Edge Ez I just bought. Plans for mods are limited due to I already have a off road rig so for now it's just exhaust, gauges, and injectors. Pics

Tripped/stumbled in here while searching for a factory service manual (FSM) for one of my customers that has twin 2005 Dodge 3500 4x4's (one is currently a no-start, and I was told these are the last two trucks he plans on owning so he would appreciate it if I would learn everything I need to know to keep them running )...so I suppose that means I'm one of those "bandwidth-leachers..." Regardless of the reason, I've been a self-employed mechanic for most of my adult life (more than 30 years...but who's counting). I specialized in electrical repairs, worked mobile (full shop in a 1-Ton truck with a delivery-box), and am pretty much retired now with only a few customers…

Hey everyone - :cheers:I learned about this site though MoparMan's posts on the Cummins Forum and came over to check it out. I've found lots of information I was looking for, so thank you to those who post helpful info.I'm from Massachusetts (others prefer the term Masshole but we're not all like that ). I have relatives out there in Idaho but not sure what towns they live in now. Not new to diesels (06 and 08 Duramax) but this is my first Cummins and feel I may have bitten off a bit too much. By the time I'm done, I feel as if I'm restoring an antique show car rather than a daily driver lol.My truck has been having an issue with not shifting properly and/or not accel…

Hi Everyone. I just purchased a 2001 3500 Ram Dually Quad Cab. Basically its my someday truck (You know, someday before I die I am going to have a truck like this ). I have had Chevy diesels in the past but, I love the second Gen Dodge styling. I have a 33' travel trailer that I am going to tow with the Cummins (I know, but, it just feels so darn good to say....) The wife was none too pleased about our Chev, but she tolerated it, and I was shocked when she had no problem with me buying the "ghost" truck (Its white; the wife and I love the name, and its better than "Casper" ya know?). One small problem. I got it home from the dealership ok, however, when I was driving to w…

Hello to the board. I have already posted a couple of times elsewhere but I thought I would introduce myself. I have been reading through posts for sometime now as well and just want to say thanks for all the info I have learned here. My name is Dave I am originally from SLC UT, I currently live a few miles north near Hill AFB. I am a Computer Science Major working as a Software Engineer. I am also in the Air National Guard and have been in the Air Force in one form or another for 19 years which is also how long I have also been married to my sweetheart (wife not my truck). We have 6 kids, ages 18 to 11, and yes it has been hard to watch my two oldest learn to drive…

I just wanted to say hello to you all. My name is Larry, and I've been lurking for quite a while and thought it was time to come out of the shadows I've owned my 2000 Ram 2500 for 15 years now, and we've had our ups and downs through the years. I've made a few upgrades over the years, and the good thing is that it still runs strong. It's primarily used to pull my 28 foot 5th wheel trailer through out the northwest states. My main goal now with the truck is to keep it running strong with an emphasis on reliability. I can't afford to break down while pulling my trailer in some narrow twisty mountain pass. I do everything possible to do all my own work on the truck.…
