So yesterday, I finally started tackling installing the Mopar "add-on" trailer (7-pin) kit. The reasoning is the PO had some kinda hack-job of a setup.. A busted 7 pin connector, and a piece of 14/2 wire (only using one) ran from the 7 way at bumper, up the driver's side rail, to the plug behind the LF wheel-well. Tapped into a green wire. This is apparently a 12VConstant (green) fed to the brake terminal of the 7-way. WTAF?? So at any rate, the MOPAR replacement with harness is in, minus the blue brake wire.. The new harness has a blue pigtail that is apparently to go to the under-dash somewhere. There's already a trailer brake in the cab, plugged in …

My buddy with the 2007.5 Dodge Cummins 4x4 ST 1 ton pickup wants to know if I can add factory cruise control to his pickup. He's tired of having to drive it on long trips without cruise control. If it's possible, do I just need to get a new steering wheel and clock spring, and the required parts for under the hood, and add it with my AlfaOBD tool, or does he need to get a TIPM with cruise control functionality built in it? I don't know if there are any aftermarket solutions to adding cruise control to a 3rd gen Dodge pickup or not.

2006 Dodge - Starter issues Just got home for lunch and now going to move the truck to get a job done. There is nothing. No click nothing. All the dash lights up. Being this is controlled by a TIPM I'm not sure at this moment what to look at next?

Yup the 2006 Dodge has got a good front end clunk. When turning tight in parking lots and sharp corners. I want to pick you guys minds to get heads up on 3rd gen front end suspension and common issues. I'll admit the truck has a 2 inch leveling kit. Really like to pull that out as well being it squats pretty bad with a trailer hitched up.

I came across this ad, and it seems high for pushing 200k miles. But, it also seems to have no rust. Thought I'd see what you all think. I have two sets of 3rd Gen wheels for my 2nd, so would swap to stock steel wheels. Weird there's no photos of interior. I may go check it out on Sunday if still available, try to get a better price. https://kansascity.craigslist.org/ctd/d/harrisonville-2007-dodge-ram-3500-trx4/7337248890.html

Went out to a friend's house last weekend to look at his truck for him. a month or so ago, I put a new steering stab (oem) and sway bar end-links on. shortly after, he started complaining about super hard steering when slow, or backing up... So I went out there and disconnected the stabilizer, for SnGs.. No change. Power steering pump is leaking, but had plenty of fluid in it. Hydra brakes work fine. Just cannot hardly turn it sitting still.. I don't wanna throw parts at it (pump or steer gear) without knowing pretty sure what is the issue. Any thoughts on this are greatly appreciated.. Pump doesn't whine/groan/nothing..

Well since I made the move to process to purchase the 2006 Dodge from the bank... New injectors +50 HP New Valair dual disc quiet towing clutch New Front unit bearings New crank sensor New Intake air sensor (crush it don't ask) New valve cover gasket (o-ring) It getting more and more reliable for driving back on forth to work. I'm looking to getting tires soon since the passenger side front is slow leaking and the rubber is getting weather checked after sitting for at least 3 years. I've got 275/70 R18 on it right now. I've got 3.73 gears I'm thinking of going up to a 285/70 R18 to bring the tach down a bit more. I…

Hey guys. I've got to do wheel joints on the front axle. Now the driver side shaft just slides out. Now the passenger side shaft won't come out even prying against it. Is there a clip in the differential or what? Weird the driver side shaft just about falls out and slides in easy as pie. That passenger shaft is resisting the idea of coming out. Ideas, thoughts, or a bit of knowledge? Just finished up replacing both front unit bearings. This is when I found the passenger side shaft has a worn out wheel joint. I've got both wheel joints here and can easily do it at another time but the whole problem of the getting that passenger shaft out of the axle is my bigge…

Just a tidbit for others. I just did new wheel bearings on the front of the 2006 Dodge. I ordered the NAPA fleet series bearings. They are coated to protect the metals. Needless to say I had the passenger side ABS made contact with the rotor. Yup ate the cable through one wire. I just swapped an old sensor back. The new one is repairable. For sure not like the 2002 ABS codes are stored and require a tool that can read and erase ABS codes. After the swap it reset and all lights are back off once again.

Hello, I am hoping someone here can brainstorm with me to get me over this hump I've been dealing with a long time now. Quick background: truck is a 2005 dodge ram 3500 VIN but has 2004 motor, trans, and ECM. I unknowingly purchased it like this. The truck was cheap I knowingly bought it hoping for just mechanical problems. I overhauled the motor it had 3 broken rings, replaced all injectors, etc. etc. Unfortunately over the last 2 years I have only had intermittent time to work on the truck roughly 2 weeks every 6 months. The truck now cranks and fires great every time and idles well except for a little bit of white smoke which is expected as the truck has le…

Anyone that has a tachometer gauge acting strange and showing unusually high RPM speeds and bouncing. Make sure the tone wheel on the crank is clean and no grease and grime in the tone wheel. Then make sure ther sensor is in good condition and the gap is correct. After I got the truck fired up it had a very wild tach and jumped all over the gauge randomly. After I power washed the engine 99% of that went away. Now showing correct numbers and no longer jumping wild high numbers like banging 4.5k randomly.

Hey gang... The 2006 Dodge I've got has a stock stereo and the input jack is broken. I'd love to hear what some of you are using for stereos in the 3rd gen body being a double DIN is typically used. I'm looking for a quality Bluetooth unit that can handle at least two mobile devices at once. Like the Kenwood in my 2002 allows @Wet Vetteand myself to go somewhere if either phone rings its hooked and goes through the stereo. DVD video is not a requirement. Backup camera if available I would take it.

After a 3 year long of not running... Stuffed in a new Valair quiet towing dual disc clutch and a set of +50HP injectors. It runs! It's been so long since I last drove it that it was like a all new experience. No real smoke at all. Remember there is no tuner just the +50HP injectors and stock ECM. I rolled out 18.2 MPG on the way home at least on the overhead display. I need to set up my app for this truck and start monitoring the actual MPG which might be a bit better being this does have oversized tires (33 inch). Ratio is wrong and runs on the hot side climbing grades. Oh yeah I found out that 2006 and up are chipped keys. Man talk about expensive to have…

Well... I finally got back from DAP with the injectors and started the next day stuffing the +50 HP injectors in to the 2006 Dodge which has been named "Thor". I will say after getting all the work done and being able to drive it for the first time in nearly 3 YEARS. Yup the previous owner left it out in a field for over 2 years with a wiped out throw-out bearing. Now with the injectors and new clutch it runs pretty good. I still got a wastegate solenoid to get or fix. The best for last... I did custom license plates on the truck... MPR73MN

My neighbor that lives across the road from my family's ranch on the mountain, has a 2007.5 Cummins 6.7 2500 4x4 pickup that I just installed a brand new Clutch, flywheel and hydraulics in it. A while back he had a different 07.5 2500 Cummins that had fog lights from the factory. He swapped the front bumper assemblies, and swapped in the headlight switch with the fog light function. He can't get the fog lights to come on. I just went into his BCM and turned the fog light functionality on, but when I press the headlight knob in to turn on the fog lights, they still don't come on. The fog lights worked when the setup was on the other 07.5 pickup. …

I'm moving forward on building my shop truck. I've got the Valiar Quiet Towing Dual Disc clutch from @dieselautopower. Started this morning getting the old flywheel and flex plate out. Come to find out the rear main seal is weeping. So, I got @Jthorto run to NAPA and pickup a rear main seal for $40. But here is what I've got... Rear crank seal is wet. Change it now while the clutch is out... Then slam in the flywheel... Here is the friction disc stack.
