  2. I changed my rotors and hubs yesterday; I was metal on metal on the right. Anyway, it took me most of the day, and by the time I got to the driver's side, I forgot to take out the hub bolts and proceeded to pull the hub/rotor assembly off, and pulled the bearing apart. Good thing I had a new bearing to stick on there anyway.Finished it up this afternoon, and it's nice not hearing that scraping sound anymore and no more pulsating stops coming from warped rotors.

I had replaced all inner and outer tie rods, sleeves, pitman arm, and idler arm as all are worn out... I did alignment at my work (during after work time). sometime when I was driving on highway or road, hit the uneven or bump, I could feeling a pop.. it make me feel like upper or lower ball joint start to wear out? I did replaced the shocks (all fours)... I did test the stabilizer links- it is tight.. the front end tires are show no wear problems... it is independent front suspension...

  7. I am installing an Isspro trans temp gauge an would like to know the best route to run the sender wire. I will be putting it in the trans hot line to the cooler. Most everything I have run is through the firewall grommet to the upper right of the steering column, but is there a more direct path near the trans tunnel? Also I will be splicing the cooler "hot" line with the "T" from Diesel Manor. Is the line full of fluid that I should be prepared to catch when I disconnect it? I am hoping that it will have drained and I can just break it loose with minimal spillage. Thanks in advance!

Ok so heres my plan to make life easier, I'm just needing advice from someone who has done this, or knows anything about wiring because I surely dont :cool:I bought a GPS with a window mount the other day, and having cords draped across my radio controls is possibly the worst thing to put me into OCD mode... So, I came up with a plan.I am wanting to wire up another 12v power outlet under the dash above the pedals somewhere out of the way. I want this power outlet to be switched, (when I turn my key on, the power comes on, when I turn key off the power goes off) just like the 12v power outlet beside the ashtray on our 2nd gen trucks. Can anyone explain to me step by step wh…

  9. I just put on two new stabilizer links on the front. No problem installing them except for knowing how much to tighten the nut down on the bushings. They tightened easily until I ran out of threads. Is there a proper squish value on the bushings? I also tighten sector shaft adjustment on the steering box about 1/8 turn and it seems to be working better on the test drive here at home. I am leaving for Indiana shortly and will put it to the test then.

My 97, when I got the truck, was missing the OHC. The plug is there, but the console is not. It has the black plug that has about 8-10 wires. I bought a console from a member here, and it's only a three wire connector. Apparently my SLT originally had the temp/compass, etc.. THis one I bought has a red plug, with courtesy lights and a pocket, only.I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to wire this one in.. I know ground and constant, but the third wire is for the door-open circuit to trigger the domelight and such. When the door is open, the yellow wire (truck-side) has no voltage. Close the door and the yellow wire gains 12V.I'm a tad confused, for some reas…

Since completing the heater core and evaporator install, I had the AC system recharged at a local shop. The tech told me the low side pressure is 30 psi. In 85° weather, I'm getting 55-60° air from the center vent w max-air and full fan. Quite frankly, I was warm. Before all this, my truck AC would freeze you out! I read the article at http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/27-hvac-heating-ventalation-and-air-conditioning/58-recharging-air-conditioning-with-r134a-freon and noticed the performance temperature specs were exactly what I'm now getting. Is it unreasonable to expect my system to be as cold as it used to be? If its not unreasona…

  14. Has anyone pulled their lighter or power port? The FSM says there are 2 tabs in them you depress with snap ring pliers from the inside. I seem to feel something like that in there, but have not been successful in removing either of them. All I have done is booger them up.

  16. My A/C doesn't cycle on and off, compressor just stays kicked in. I checked the pressure and it was a touch low so I put one of those small cans into the system. It is now in the safe range but still won't cycle out. It runs until it freezes off and airflow stops. I have been switching it to vent every few minutes to keep this from happening. What do you guys think is the problem?

  17. I have a chance to buy some factory 17" wheels and tires but he has no center caps and lug nuts. Will my lug nuts and center caps off my 01 with aluminum wheels work? Is the taper on the acorn the same and does anyone have a picture of what it will look like? Thanks in advance.

I replaced the condenser in the '00 couple of weeks ago, (the one that looked extremely suspect after the deer strike). Finally getting around to pulling it down and recharging, hopefully this weekend. The system wasn't totally discharged, but I replaced it anyway. What is the rule of thumb for when a particular component is replaced for amount of oil to replenish? Thanks

I went to test my 7 pin trailer connector the other day and i only have power and the electric brakes and the constant 12V. The 12V also goes on with the brakes, which i assume it should always have power. Where can i trace the wires back to? is there a common failure point? http://forum.mopar1973man.com/image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhWQJsAdUAAP///wAAAICAgEBAQMDAwPsLCxAQED8/P/Dw8L+/v6CgoH9/f+Dg4A8PD9DQ0CAgIO/v7zAwMGBgYB8fH3BwcFBQUJCQkN/f37CwsJ+fny8vL19fX8/Pz09PT29vb6+vr4+Pjz4CAvk2DX0FBbwICA8AAB8BAZwGBusKCk4DAw8DANkvC14EBC8CAssICNsJCbooCT4NA+kyDHwbBl0UBGwXBY0GBh8GAcorCpshCC4KAqwHB20EBKslCIweBwAAACH5BAAAAAAALAAAAABZAmwBQAb/QIBwSCwaj8ikcslsOp/QqHRKrVqv2Kx2y+16v+CwePwUBAIDAOEcMLI…

Im new thanks to google I found this site. I am working on my first dodge so its a learning process. What I have is a 97 3500 2wd cummins 5 speed. I changed the ac yesterday and am having no luck at all getting it to run. I changed everything except the evaporator, pulled it down and had to bypass the relay to get the clutch to engage. We filled it using this method using gauges and it cools great. When we put the relay back in the clutch will not engage. We have check low and high pressure switches and they seem to be working. I am lost for what I need to do next. Also the previous owner hooked up an external voltage regulator on the alternator, so I am wondering …
