Today I decided in spite of the existing truck bed cross member above the fuel module, I cut the opening for a access hatch or lid, whatever you call it.I knew I was taking a risk in weakening the bed but, If I just cut the surface out first I knew I would then be committed:cookoo: Committed to getting it done and to get it right.I only cut the surface and removed that first. Injector cleaners have been the long debate of the decade and I'd like to shed some more light on it. Injector cleaners have a number of things they have to do while also doing others. For instance, something made to tackle carbon means it could possibly and probably tackle the rubber of the fuel lines, gaskets, etc. This means injector cleaner additives are extremely weak and must be used long term for them to do anything. My headlights aren't quite cutting it for me anymore. I had a similar issue with my 2000 V10's headlights, they just don't put out much light. Our 05 Silverado low beams are equivilent to my trucks high beams, especially in the rain. I am planning on picking up some "smoked" housings to go along with my all black and white color scheme. I was wondering if the brightness problems lie solely on the bulbs used, or will an aftermarket light put out much better brightness? I want to install a new draw straw and 1/2" fuel line from the tank. I'm torn between dropping the tank and lifting the bed. Understand that I work in gravel and don't have a lot of jacks/tools. I even saw a YouTube video where a guy cut a hole in his bed to gain access. That's even a consideration. Problem is that the tank unit sits right under a support bar of the bed. But a couple holes on each side of the cross member might be adequate. Having perminant access to the tank unit would be cool. But not sure I have the guts to go that way. So looking for opinions about bed tilting or tank dropping. I can invision a pully system to lower and raise the tank.

So here is what I have going on- I own a 2001 Dodge Cummins four-wheel-drive 2500 It came from the factory Without air-conditioning. What I want to do is install air conditioning on it. Does anyone have any experience with a project like this? For instance is all the wiring already there in the factory wiring harnesses So all I would have to do is get the components and switches installed And plug everything in it and once the system is charged of course it should work or is there more to it than that Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

i am a little confused by this. everything that i read says that my truck should have a 36 gallon tank as standard equipment. but i have never put more than 26 gallons into an empty tank. was there an option for a smaller tank? when the fuel light comes on surely there is not 10 gallons left? i am curious if my guage/sender is reading correctly.

My Son`s 99 has a leaking brake booster.. Due to his tight budget he is looking at buying one from a local salvage. I`m just wondering what the life expectancy is for these units?Are booster failures common on 2nd gens?

So, I finally had time to spray in the Al's DIY bedliner kit today...prepped the bed, had everything taped and masked off. It was nice and warm out, no wind, sunny, everything was good-until I started mixing the first batch up. I got it mixed up, and realized I had forgotten to put an airline fitting on the spray gun....So, I'm running around the garage, trying to find a fitting, before the batch had a chance to set. I didn't end up having to worry about that. In my rush to get the fitting on, and get the material in the gun and sprayed, I didn't realize I had failed to mix the B bottle into the batch... I got my auto meter pyrometer installed today in my big Massey... the one with the 903 Cummins.Just like the instructions said, it buzzes when the gauge sweeps up and down (auto calibration). But, today was around 30 degrees outside, and the gauge said it was 300-400, with a stone cold engine.I didn't want to fire up the engine (takes too much fuel just to hear it run, and it wasn't plugged in either).Do these things need some time to 'learn' the curve? or do I have a dud?

My truck didn't come with fog lights. Want to install in the bumper in the OEM location. I see that on eBay that there are lights with mounts. I've got the wiring figured out thanks to Michael's diagram for driving lights (separate thread). Can I just bolt these suckers on the existing bumper without the inserts?been readin around the site. Some are saying the factory fog lights are worthless. Ive got them on my 2006 mega cab and I like em. Are the 3rd gen lights better?

Had just left the house on a 300 mile round trip. Got about 8 miles down the road travelling 55 mph when all the sudden the steering wheel started shaking. It got worse by the second, so I immediately began slowing down to pull off to the side of the road. As I slowed, I started smelling a very strong brake smell, and by the time I got to a stop the smoke was rolling over top of the hood . You guys see anything wrong with running the trip wire for the relay from a tap connector on the bright lights wire hot wire? I've got all the parts, but have not wired it up yet.

So this morning I installed an adjustable overflow valve and finally got my fuel pressure back in check. after finishing I took my truck for a test drive. As soon as I got to the end of my road I noticed my ABS and brake lights were still on. I pulled the emergency brake handle again but they still stayed on. Hi all,I need some advice on some factory style extended mirrors. I put a truck camper on her & a larger mirror would help make things a bit easier. If I went salvage yard hunting would I be able to find a good used set? Are there many trucks that had them. Seems like most the 2nd gens running around here have the small stock ones.What should I look out for? Easy install? Any aftermarket ones to stay away for or that you would recommend?Thanks,Dave

My "new" "used" 2006 Lone Star 4x4 quad cab 5.9 cummins has an emblem on the tailgate that say "RamLock". In searching the internet for RamLock I see references to automatic locking tailgate and also to locking differential. So what exactly is "RamLock"? Has anyone attempted to resolve the peeling black sticker stuff in between the side windows? I have seen a number of trucks afflicted by this. Is it vilable somewhere? I was thinking of cutting out some black vinyl and slapping it on. Maybe paint? I can just imagine the old stuff being a pain to remove. Your thoughts.
