I recently received a 120k mile 1996 Stratus 2.4l from my parents that they were done repairing and ready to donate. I stepped up and took the donation as I could use a vehicle that gets nearly double the fuel mileage of my trucks. The car recently had the head gasket, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, and water pump replaced. Although there were little issues remaining I believe I have all those fixed except for the transmission. Recently just before my father gave up on the car the transmission started to leak. It appeared to be dripping from the oil pan. So he pulled the pan, replacing the filter and gasket. Sure enough it started to leak again …

The Cirrus has been my Daily Driver... easier to get into than the 4X4. I've been bothered by a vibration for a couple of years. Additionally, I've had slow tire / wheel leaks that have necessitated blowing them up once a week or so. The tires I had on it were winter tires bought by Dear Daughter for her Sunbird when she grew tired of getting stuck in Vermont winters... she drove it home & the car died. After it sat for a year, she junked it & I pulled the tires. The Cirrus was the only car the tires fit so I had them mounted when I needed new skins. Asside from being noisy, I drove them without any issues for the first year or more. Then the vibration st…

Ok Gang... I'm now trading hats and becoming a 5.9L V8 owner. So I figured it time to get get the other truck running just as good as the 02 Cummins. Ok history I've got 144K on the clock. As for wondering about the mainfold... I know I got to fix it... Another thing I found was testing the MAP sensor. I hooked up a vacuum gauge and it showing the typical 16-17 in of mercury like usual. But the ScanGauge II is showing the MAP sensor having 1.6 PSIa which is like 26 inches of mercury. So I'm assuming the MAP sensor is screwed... Coffee break is over time to get back out and snoop!

I'm driving home about 45 minutes ago from the fuel station. I dropped my work trailer off where I'll be working tomorrow, and go to fuel station.Anyhow, on the drive home I get behind a Dodge pickup.......a gasser. Don't know if it's Hemi or not. Well, the closer I looked, I see these tiny dual exhaust tips. They were economy car sized tips.......1.5 or 1.75 inches in diameter!!!!!! What's normal sized exhaust........2.25-2.5". I was laughing and shaking my head:lmao:

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd., 5.2L, 44RE, NVG249, 155K on the odo.Replaced trans, TC, radiator, cooler, on 9/9/09, @ 118K due to slipping badly; band adjustment performed prior to replacement (no change.)Fast forward to current time:Cold starts, Reverse and Drive (1st) engagements are slow and inconsistent. Once warmed up, engagements are normal and without fault. No codes. Fluid level is optimum. Aamco says it needs rebuilt. I think it's a fluid issue: either the pump is weak, or there is a drain-back issue somewhere, causing the trans or TC to lose fluid to the pan, causing pressure to drop.Any ideas? I don't think a band adjustment is the answer, as it doesn't …

I have a 2008 Dodge Ram and I replaced the slave cylinder and now it won't start. Is it safe to say that it needs to be bled. What I'm thinking is the air is causing the clutch to not engage and therefore won't start. The slave cylinder was supposed to be pre bled, but I removed the plastic clips and most likely got air. Anyone have a suggestion?

I'm working on a dash cluster issue for my neighbor. He bought this JGCL from me a couple of years ago, and I do most of the maint./repairs for him. At any rate, I'm trying to find a wiring diagram for it's instrument cluster. Not sure if it's bus-fed or what.. The cluster is modular and plugs into the dash plug, rather than multiple harnesses loosely plugged in. The plug is singular and I think it's 10-wire connector. I need to know what the wiring pinout is.Any help is appreciated. The 95 wiring diagram is not the same.

Wife's Subaru was in the shop... So she drove my Cirrus for several days. This morning I took her to get the Subaru back & the CEL is on in my car. She claims it wasn't on yesterday but I know she "frigged up my car!" (just joking, car has 104K miles) Checked the gas cap 2X, it's tight. Nothing obivious wrong. I did the key thingy... the CEL blinks. I ran it 3X & got the code 123155. I'm trying to find the chart for this... www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html Russ

i have got what sounds like a wheel bearing going bad. a low pitched growl that increases and decreases with wheel speed only. it doesnt change with engine rpm. trans can be in gear or in neutral, strictly constant with wheel speed. i have jack up both sides of the front and theris no movement in the wheels side to side or top to bottom. It is a 4 wheel drive and i dont now much about the drive axles. all of the boots apear to be in good condition and nothing seems out of the ordinary. is there anything else up front that might growl liek that?

With the HOT weather, I've really needed the AC (bad things happen to my MS if I get over heated). The MPGs totally tanked... and it seemed the AC was working but not really cooling the car very fast. I decided that I ought to drop the kick panel (includes passenger's side duct or I would have left it off) and drop the blower & check/clean out the cage & ductwork. I had trimmed the tab on the console side of the kick panel last time so only the duct holds it on there & just a ribbed plastic push lock on the right, grab & yank. 3 screws & 1/4" drive rachet drops the blower motor. There wasn't as much in the cage as I expected. I reached in &am…

Has anyone done a R&P on an 01 Sebring? From what I have been reading you need to lower the suspension crossmember? :cookoo:WTF it says to scribe lines on all four corners of the suspension crossmember before you loosen it so you can put it back on location. What kind of time am I looking at or should I take it to a shop? I have done racks before but it was not this in involved. Thought the guy jumped on my offer of $1800 for a car he was asking $2500 for way to fast. I did talk to him tonight and he gave me $600 cash back. Looks like this might cover the total cost for a shop to repair it. Don

Hey all,I have a 05 caravan with the 3.8L which I bought new and now has 70,000 on the clock.Over the years it has had an intermittent ping/rattle under light to heavy acceleration. I typically use 91 octane fuel in it and seems to help a little, but it still happens from time to time. It has happened on cold days and hot days on flat terrain or hilly terrain. Does this engine have a knock sensor? and if it is working shouldn't it back off the timing, if this is a problem?I seem to remember in the 90's dodge had different ecms based on where the vehicle was operating, ( at least on the dakotas and ram gassers)The vehicle was purchased in Georgia with the elevation around …
