Posted July 15, 20159 yr Sorry if this is not the place to post this but I have found a chart with the latest fuel HFRR values with the addition of bio fuel. Since most fuel stations will have between 2% and 5% biodiesel I thought this would be great info for us VP44 powered trucks. I am having difficulty posting the chart if someone can help I will get it up asap.
July 15, 20159 yr Author I honestly don't remember how I found the PDF either. It was from a government page.
July 15, 20159 yr Owner Absolutely. I would love to add more to the site. Just remember the Biodiesel is higher in cetane so it lower in BTU's so typically there is a small loss to MPG while using Biodiesel fuels.

Mike apparently 2%-20% only adds between .2 to 1.2 points in cetane values. That I don't have the chart for but I do remember the values. As far as BTU heat valve in 2%-5% biodiesel blends the BTU of heat only drops about about 2% if I remember correctly. It's a very small change.
July 15, 20159 yr Owner Mike how do I post a picture. I'm having a bad tech day lol. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/mopar1973man-com-site-information/478-adding-an-image-to-a-post-on-mopar1973man-com As for the cetane chart. Demo using local values. (Winter and summer)
July 15, 20159 yr Author I sent the chart to. Now the values are are for no biodiesel, 2%, 5% and 20%.
July 15, 20159 yr Author Also the US standard for cetane values within diesel fuel is 40. With 20% blend cetane jumps up to a whopping 41.
July 15, 20159 yr Author I have the entire PDF also if you would like it let me know with your email address and I will attempt to forward it.
