I am looking to locate where the fuse or relay is on my 2007 5.9 3500 Ram.  I have searched hi and low to no avail so hope someone can give me some good direction.  This truck has the TIPM module and there is no indication on the cover of a fuse for the fuel or lift pump.  My dealer is a bit shakey but indicates the fuel pump which is located in the tank is controlled in the solid state circuitry of the TIPM so there is no assessable fuse or relay.  If true and if I want to disable the fuel pump for a test I would have to find the connector somewhere back by the fuel tank and disconnect.  Is this the situation or is there another more accurate procedure?

 

Contact in the relay do over time get pitted like starter contacts and eventually arc weld together or arc pit so bad that they no longer make a good connection. So investing few bucks into a fresh relay is "cheap" testing.

It's in the wiring diagram for your pickup. I would be very shocked if it isn't there.

Having trouble posting the photo of mine but will keep trying. While looking at the wiring diagrams Mike has in the article data base it shows the power coming from the ECM straight to the fuel transfer pump. I don't see a relay involved.If there is one involved it seems strange that the after market fuel makes and Dodge would provide another relay to be operated by an existing relay. Seems strange to me. but as I have said in the past I am a 3 year old when it comes to the electronics.

The underside of the cover correct?????  So that you can see the lay out of the fuse and relay locations and the wording used to describe each location/position???

It is different than my 05 which isn't what I really expected considering there aren't really any ECM/wiring differences other than fuel pump location. 

Okay, back into the FSM for the 2004 for now. 

The 04 FSM talks about the ECM relay control output from the ECM just like the 05+ FSM but it appears it may not use a relay. It lists the size at 18ga which won't hold a lot of amps but if the run is short?? It seems to me that would overload the ECM but I guess not. 

As far as the 2005 Dodge I just had here it was powered on a relay in the PDC. I'm almost positive it was in position 61for the relay and it had a 20 Amp fuse just cant remember the fuse position number.

I couldn't find anything resembling my wiring in all my searches.   I've got one of the first 04.5's...............and I'm sure there was a lot of niggardly ways by Diamond to use all the '03-'04 parts up before delving into the new stuff.
