Hello everyone. I'm having some issues with what I'm thinking might be a boost leak, but I'm not really sure.

I have an 02 5-speed 3500 4x4 with a Raptor 95 and 75hp industrial injection injectors. It also has a bhaf, and a magnaflow 4" exhaust. I had a smarty on it but installed my Quadzilla Adrenaline today, and I noticed that I'm only getting up to 12 psi of boost.

Now I didn't have any gauges before the Quad, so I don't know if those are the numbers I've always been getting, but I do know that I don't seem to be making any more power from Level 0 through Level 7 than I was with the Smarty. I haven't tried anything higher than 7 because it was raining.

So I guess my real question is how much boost should I be getting, and when? In second and third gears it gets up to about 7 psi. It only really gets up to about 12 in fourth at about 2000rpm. I'm going to play with it again tomorrow, but it's been bugging me all day and I thought I'd ask about it in here.

Sorry if this post was all over the place. I'm just kind of freaking out about not getting the power I was expecting from this thing.

  • When you installed your Raptor did you bypass or remove the in tank pump? I have a mechanical FP gauge and install the line for it after my filters so if they start to clog I can see it in lower press

  • They have a steel nut embedded in the plastic... It'll probably plow through the PSG before stripping any threads. That said, if a user doesn't follow instructions that's a personal problem

  • Test for boost leaks as a first step.

PLastic housing and an excited installer can lead to issues pretty easy.

I used the term plastic loosely. More nylon like than plastic but not sure what it is made actually. His site says plastic that can withstand 600* F. He also has good instructions there now. I dont remember them back in 09. Of course there are alot things I dont remember from back in 09.

Just an update on my ongoing install.

I purchased the Vulcan big line fuel kit and had one of the threaded connections break off while installing it. Had to get another one shipped 2 day express, which took 5 days. Then the hose itself leaked and had to run out to buy some hose clamps for that.

Now, after finally getting everything together, I had to tighten the needle valve because it was leaking, and sure enough it broke and it spewing diesel everywhere.

So I decided to come in and have some ice cream while I contemplate my next move. Looks like I'm going to pull all of that junk off and put my original fuel line back. I can't believe I over tightened those two things when all I was using was a small adjustable wrench. Either the quality is bad, or I'm a lot stronger than I think- which doesn't seem likely.

Either way, I'm bummed. Sorry for the rant, it's just been nothing but problems trying to get this stuff going, and it should be easy.

Nothing worse than when things DON'T go as planned.  Sorry to hear about your troubles, hopefully you get it back running soon.
